- 123 Baby Box
Participated · Seed · Mar 2023
123 Baby Box offers a monthly subscription box tailored to a child’s age and developmental stage, selected via a customer quiz and delivered across six product categories (health and wellness; development; playtime; useful items; “Mama’s goodies”; and special spotlights). Subscriptions are tiered at $59.99/month, $49.99/month for six months, and $39.99/month for an annual plan. The company provides manufacturers with customer insights, product-launch and advertising opportunities, and works with brands including Fisher-Price, Mattel, Nuby and Goddess Garden. Since launching in March 2021 the business grew 245%, tripled its revenue, and saw monthly recurring revenue increase fivefold over 2021. It secured a deal with a large U.S. breast pump distributor to send boxes to 1 million customers, expanded headcount by five to a total of nine employees, and operated out of the founder’s parents’ garage prior to fundraising. The company plans four revenue streams—the subscription box, an e-commerce store for individual products and a loyalty program, product-placement fees for manufacturers, and B2B sales for employee benefits—and will use new capital for a warehouse, marketing, hiring and inventory while targeting $100,000 MRR and $1M ARR.
- Epitel
Participated · Series A · Feb 2022
Epitel develops the REMI Remote EEG Monitoring System, a wireless, wearable EEG platform designed to enable extended-duration brain monitoring at home for days to weeks. The REMI portfolio has received five U.S. FDA 510(k) clearances across its wireless EEG monitoring and AI-driven event detection technologies. REMI Vigilenz AI analyzes REMI EEG to flag potential seizures and is cleared for use in patients aged six and older, while the overall platform is cleared for patients as young as one year. Epitel is initially focused on seizure detection and diagnosis and cites gaps in access—noting 9.2 million Americans experience seizures annually while many lack EEG access. The company says its technology aims to improve clinician workflow by accelerating capture of objective seizure evidence and to broaden access to neurological care outside traditional hospital settings. With the recently closed Series B, Epitel plans to expand its commercial infrastructure and field team to accelerate adoption and market penetration.
