She's Independent Investments is a women-first angel investment group with a mission of getting more women on the cap table, in the boardroom, and in positions of power. We focus on seed+ stage investments (but are open to later stage rounds) across verticals where we align with founders and teams building impactful businesses with large addressable markets. Veckta Corporation is a San Diego-based online energy marketplace connecting commercial and industrial energy users with vetted capital, construction, and equipment suppliers. Led by founder and CEO Gareth Evans, the company operates an onsite marketplace where companies can source capital, services, and equipment in one place. On December 7, 2022, Veckta closed a $3.3M seed funding round. The round was led by VoLo Earth Ventures with participation from Cove Fund, Triple Impact Capital, SeedFolio, She’s Independent and Nomadic Ventures. Founding shareholder Worley continues to hold a position in the company, and as part of the financing Kareem Dabbagh of VoLo Earth Ventures and Paul Vois of Cove Fund will join Veckta’s board of directors. The company intends to use the proceeds to expand its marketplace platform and grow its pipeline across the food and beverage, manufacturing, and mining industries.
