- Endolith
Participated · Seed · Sep 2024
Endolith is a Denver-based biotechnology startup combining artificial intelligence with engineered microbial consortia to biologically dissolve metal-bearing minerals and convert them into recoverable solutions. Its software platform identifies and optimizes microbe cocktails that can liberate copper, cobalt and other strategic metals from low-grade or otherwise challenging deposits, offering a potentially lower-cost and more environmentally friendly alternative to conventional mining. Management positions the technology as a strategic resource solution for U.S. mineral security amid rising demand from electric vehicles and AI-driven data centers. Although still at an early stage, the company plans to channel fresh capital into pilot-scale engineering, process validation and the design of its first modular extraction units in partnership with industrial players. Endolith also intends to adhere to strict verification protocols to quantify efficiency, purity and economic viability of recovered metals. To accelerate commercialization, the team is pursuing additional industry collaborations and expects a follow-on tranche once certain technical milestones are met. The recent seed financing brings total capital raised to at least US$13.5 million, giving the company runway to advance toward initial commercial pilots.
- Veckta
Participated · Seed · Jul 2022
Veckta Corporation is a San Diego-based online energy marketplace connecting commercial and industrial energy users with vetted capital, construction, and equipment suppliers. Led by founder and CEO Gareth Evans, the company operates an onsite marketplace where companies can source capital, services, and equipment in one place. On December 7, 2022, Veckta closed a $3.3M seed funding round. The round was led by VoLo Earth Ventures with participation from Cove Fund, Triple Impact Capital, SeedFolio, She’s Independent and Nomadic Ventures. Founding shareholder Worley continues to hold a position in the company, and as part of the financing Kareem Dabbagh of VoLo Earth Ventures and Paul Vois of Cove Fund will join Veckta’s board of directors. The company intends to use the proceeds to expand its marketplace platform and grow its pipeline across the food and beverage, manufacturing, and mining industries.
- Banyan Infrastructure
Participated · Series A · Jun 2022
Banyan Infrastructure provides a technology platform purpose-built for project finance teams investing in renewable and other sustainable infrastructure assets. Its software offers dynamic online checklists and scorecards, approval-based workflow automation, APIs into existing data sources, a centralized data vault that complements virtual data rooms, and a self-service client portal. These tools are designed to reduce the manual, spreadsheet-driven processes that currently dominate sustainable infrastructure financing. Since launch 18 months ago, the company has helped deploy and manage more than $1 billion of capital into sustainable projects. Banyan’s recent $8.2 million Series A financing values the company at $47 million and strengthens its balance sheet to further scale its go-to-market engine and deepen customer support. Management plans to use the new capital to increase the velocity, standardization, and transparency of sustainable infrastructure investments, ultimately lowering the cost of capital and accelerating global low-carbon project deployment.
