Novatron Fusion is a nuclear fusion company focused on energy production and fast-tracking the transition to commercial fusion power. Founded by Erik Odén and led by CEO Peter Roos, the company has assembled its fusion solution and completed system integration testing. Its technology aims to streamline the fusion energy process and reduce capital and operational costs of future fusion reactors through a series of USPs. The company raised €10M in a Series A1 round and intends to use the funds to expand operations and accelerate development efforts. Investors in the round include lead backer St1 alongside new and existing investors. Novatron is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden and is advancing development toward commercial fusion deployment. Novatron Fusion Group develops the world’s only stable mirror-machine fusion concept, targeting reduced capital and operational costs for future reactors. In 2019 the company was founded and is headquartered in Stockholm. It has launched the Tau‑E Breakthrough (TauEB) project to address plasma confinement by improving the plasma energy confinement time (τE) by over a hundred times. The TauEB work integrates three confinement techniques: Novatron’s magnetic mirror design, ambipolar electrostatic plugging, and ponderomotive RF‑field confinement. The project is funded by a €3 million award from the European Innovation Council (EIC) Pathfinder Programme and includes collaboration with KTH, KIPT, UKAEA, and EIT InnoEnergy. Novatron is backed by financial supporters including Climentum Capital, EIT InnoEnergy, and the Santander InnoEnergy Climate Fund, with partners contributing technical expertise and commercialisation strategies to advance a pathway to market. Novatron Fusion Group is a Stockholm-based fusion energy company developing the Novatron concept, a reactor solution for stable magnetic plasma confinement. Led by CEO Peter Roos, the company is focused on addressing plasma stabilization, a major obstacle to commercializing fusion reactors. The Novatron concept is based on an original idea by Swedish inventor Jan Jäderberg and the company aims to develop economically viable fusion energy in the 2030s. Novatron has announced partnerships with KTH Royal Institute of Technology, which will provide plasma-physics expertise, lab access and academic networks, and with EIT InnoEnergy for industry and public-institution connections. The company raised EUR5M in seed funding and intends to use the proceeds to accelerate development of pre-commercial prototypes. Its current focus is advancing prototype development toward commercialization. Novatron Fusion Group is a Swedish company aiming to deliver a design for commercial fusion reactors by 2040. Its core product is a fusion reactor concept that uses a "unique approach" to plasma storage intended to stabilise plasma and avoid damage to reactor walls. The team must first demonstrate that stable plasma storage can be achieved and plans to do so within the coming year by delivering a test facility. Novatron claims its fusion design would be economically viable and more cost‑effective than its contenders. The company has secured a €3 million seed round from EU‑backed EIT InnoEnergy and Stockholm's KTH Royal Institute of Technology to accelerate development. Leadership frames fusion as a crucial base‑load, zero‑carbon solution for reaching global net‑zero goals.
