    Participated · Seed · Feb 2015

Shopline offers an out-of-the-box package that gives online retailers their own website, payments system, logistics network, a management dashboard and marketing services tailored for social-media sellers. The service is responsively designed for mobile and supports local logistics features such as deliveries to 7‑11 stores in Taiwan. The company moved from a freemium model to a paid plan at $40 per month with no transaction fees. CEO and co-founder Raymond Yip says Shopline has helped create over 15,000 shops, with top sellers grossing $25,000–$35,000 per month. The startup is initially focused on Chinese-speaking markets (Hong Kong and Taiwan) and plans to expand across Southeast Asia with a market-by-market approach. Shopline has also been working on a unified marketplace for its merchants that it intends to launch publicly in the future.

  • Prenetics

    Participated · Seed · Dec 2014

Prenetics operates at the intersection of health sciences and technology, with its flagship wellness brand IM8 offering consumer health and well-being products. Backed early by David Beckham, the company has quickly scaled: IM8 recorded US$100 million in annual recurring revenue within just 11 months. Prenetics has also adopted a bitcoin-centric treasury strategy, already holding 268.4 BTC valued at roughly US$30.9 million and purchasing one bitcoin per day. Management is targeting US$1 billion in both annual revenue and bitcoin holdings over the next five years. The firm’s recent fundraising strengthens its balance sheet to pursue global expansion of IM8 while accelerating BTC accumulation. Prenetics’ shares trade on Nasdaq under the ticker PRE, and the company is headquartered in Hong Kong.

  • Snaptee

    Participated · Equity · Sep 2014

Snaptee is a mobile T-shirt design platform that enables users to convert smartphone photos into customizable T-shirt designs using in-app filters and templates. The app allows users to remix each other’s designs, and original photographers receive a small cut of any sales. Snaptee currently has about 500,000 registered users. The company plans to use the latest capital to fund further expansion into the U.S. and Japan and to update its T-shirt design platform. A new version of the app is expected to be unveiled before the upcoming holiday season and will add features to facilitate discovery and increase interaction through commenting, tagging, and following. Snaptee’s differentiation strategy centers on ease of use and mobile-first design tools. Snaptee is an iOS app that enables users to convert photos from Instagram or device albums into customizable graphic t‑shirts using an in‑app photo editor, six filters, 20 templates and overlays. The app doubles as a marketplace where creators can list designs for sale (users can price their own designs at $19.99 and buy others' at $24.99) and allow other users to "remix" designs. Since going live in July, users have created 10,000 designs; the company offers free international shipping and orders typically take two to three weeks to arrive. Snaptee plans to use its seed funding to improve the app UI, find additional marketing channels, smooth logistics and scale production as it targets the U.S. and Japan. An Android version is also in development. Founders Wai Lun Hong and Gary Lee previously built Gobuya, a daily-deals site they bootstrapped to $5 million revenue, which informed their approach to building Snaptee.
