  • Craif

    Led · Series D · Aug 2026

Craif develops a urine analysis platform that combines proprietary biomarker detection and AI to assess disease risk, with cancer as its initial focus. Its flagship test, miSignal, is available at more than 2,500 medical institutions and 4,500 pharmacies in Japan, and the company has performed over 110,000 tests to date. Craif analyzes microRNA signals and has published more than 90 peer-reviewed papers and conference presentations, including two independent publications on early pancreatic cancer detection. The company is advancing a software-based medical device program targeting pancreatic cancer and plans a prospective clinical study in the U.S. from its San Diego laboratory. Craif opened its San Diego lab in April 2026, established a U.S. subsidiary in 2022, and is building clinical, regulatory, and commercial capabilities to support a reimbursement-driven U.S. launch.

  • EMC Healthcare

    Participated · Series B · Jan 2026

EMC Healthcare株式会社 develops and operates OwlCare, an integrated eldercare DX service that combines multiple monitoring sensors and nurse-call functions to ease staff workload, optimize staffing, and reduce turnover in care facilities. The company also offers BabyMoni, an AI-based ceiling-camera system that tracks children’s posture during naps, issues alerts for unsafe positions, and automates record-keeping to free up nursery staff. Proceeds from prior Series A funding were used to complete OwlCare’s core development, leading to deployments in special nursing homes and fee-based eldercare residences. EMC Healthcare is now collaborating with medical and research institutions to create new data-driven care models. Following its new Series B raise, the firm plans to strengthen customer support, expand manufacturing capacity in Nagano’s south region, extend OwlCare to regional and in-home care settings, and deepen utilization of medical-care data. Headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, the company is led by CEO Hitoshi Date. The latest round brings in ¥590 million of fresh capital to accelerate these initiatives.
