Lineaje builds a platform to discover, manage and secure software components across an organization’s supply chain, detecting tampered packages and outdated or vulnerable open-source software. The product flags likely vulnerabilities, recommends available fixes and warns against remediations that might break software. The founders, Javed Hasan and Anand Revashetti, built the company from prior cybersecurity experience at vendors including Symantec, McAfee and Norton. Lineaje emphasizes defense work and claims a contract with the U.S. Air Force’s “Eagle Eyes” program along with relationships with other federal agencies. The startup competed in a crowded market that includes Kusari, Ox Security, Chainguard, Dustico and Endor and faces efforts from Google, Amazon and Microsoft to improve OSS security. Last year was Lineaje’s first year of revenue; it has about 30 employees and plans to double headcount by the end of the year. Lineaje builds SBOM360, an industry-first software supply chain and software bill of materials (SBOM) manager that identifies components, maps multi-level dependencies, and fingerprints components to attest supply-chain authenticity. The product enables software producers and consumers to create, publish, and evaluate SBOMs, search deployed software for vulnerabilities and indicators of compromise, and support compliance with U.S. Executive Order 14028 and other regulations. Lineaje reports managing more than 150,000 SBOMs spanning custom applications, open-source packages, commercial off-the-shelf software, mobile apps, and containers. The company announced a distribution agreement with Persistent Systems to resell SBOM360 and help customers create and manage secure software supply chains. Lineaje closed a $7 million seed round led by Tenable Ventures and plans to use the proceeds to accelerate go-to-market, invest in R&D, and expand its workforce. Tenable has selected Lineaje as one of three inaugural members of Tenable Ventures and is collaborating to create shareable data models to improve runtime security.
