  • Rhizocore Technologies

    Led · Equity · Nov 2025

Edinburgh-headquartered Rhizocore Technologies develops and supplies carefully selected, locally adapted mycorrhizal fungi—in pellet form—to accelerate tree establishment and boost survival rates across diverse environments, including clear-felled forests, former agricultural land, moorlands, reclaimed mining sites and high-altitude terrain. Operating on more than 100 active field sites, the biotech company’s “data-driven, nature-first” approach taps into fungi’s below-ground fertilisation capabilities to deliver measurable growth enhancements for forestry customers. The technology has attracted customers such as Forestry and Land Scotland and The Grosvenor Estate, two of whom also became investors in the latest round. Rhizocore plans to use its proprietary fungi solutions to unlock large-scale restoration and improve the economic returns of land assets by enhancing soil biology. With fresh capital, the firm will scale production capacity at its Roslin facility and expand into North America, where 1.4 billion trees are planted each year. The company’s growing multi-year order book across the UK and Europe underlines early commercial traction, although specific revenue or user figures were not disclosed.

  • Antler Bio

    Led · Equity · Jun 2025

Antler Bio builds EpiHerd, a gene-expression analytics platform that interprets how a cow’s genes respond to environment to detect stress and nutritional imbalances. EpiHerd helps farmers take proactive measures that improve herd well-being and increase milk yield and quality. The system is deployed across key European markets and is used by more than 100 farms, with reported gains of up to 22% in milk yield, 6% in milk fat, and 5% in milk protein. The company says these improvements increase milk volumes and quality, supporting better prices and farm profitability while enhancing fertility, resilience, longevity, and overall herd health. Antler Bio recently secured a $4.3M investment to scale EpiHerd and plans to grow its team and refine the technology. The company has raised $8.5M to date, including grants.

  • Edacious

    Participated · Seed · Feb 2025

Edacious operates a next‑generation food lab and a science‑based software platform that measure and map nutrient density across whole foods and ingredients. The company assays more than 200 compounds essential to human health to reveal how genetics, soil health, and management practices drive nutritional differences. Edacious reports that nutrient levels can vary up to 10x within groups of similar foods (for example, apples) and says its tools measure and map nutrient density 10 times faster and cheaper than incumbent approaches. Its lab replaces incomplete and costly testing with a streamlined, affordable analysis of vitamins, minerals, fats, proteins, and carbohydrates, while the platform enables users to compare, benchmark, and share nutrition data. The company positions its insights for producers, CPG brands, genetics companies, ingredient manufacturers, retailers, and policymakers to enable product differentiation and more informed choices across the food system.

  • Cerve

    Participated · Seed · Dec 2024

Cerve provides a technology platform and APIs that enable organisations to build custom applications and automations across the food supply chain. The platform aims to drive profitability, commercial growth, reduce food waste and enhance food security by standardising data exchange and addressing legacy platform limitations. Today, over 2,000 organisations across the UK and Europe use Cerve’s infrastructure, including retailers, wholesalers, manufacturers and producers. The company plans to accelerate commercial expansion across the UK, Europe and North America and to strengthen its R&D capabilities. Hiring additional engineering, product and technical support teams is a stated priority for the use of funds. The company is led by founder and CEO Dan Mazig (with David Walker noted as CCO). Cerve is a Sweden-based food tech startup offering an infrastructure platform that automates wholesalers' sales operations. Its platform integrates with a wholesaler's ERP to digitize processes and provide a more tailored buying experience for B2B buyers. The company targets food and beverage wholesalers that remain dependent on manual processes and legacy backend systems, a problem highlighted during the pandemic and in the post-COVID digitization push. Cerve has raised a $2 million seed round, reflecting its current early-stage financing status. The seed was led by Orkla Ventures, with MP Pensjon and nFront Ventures joining the cap table. Daniel Holth Larsen of Orkla Ventures said Cerve 'hits the nail on the head' with its proven value proposition and looks forward to supporting the team on their journey.
