- Ryft
Participated · Series A · Apr 2025
Ryft operates as a payment services provider (PSP) with offices in Manchester and London, supplying PSD2-compliant infrastructure that allows marketplaces and other digital platforms to embed payments directly into their products. Through a single integration, the platform supports online and in-person transactions, automates split payments at source, and offers white-labelled processing, refund, and payout capabilities. It further enables customers to monetise each transaction via embedded fees or margins, while providing holistic reporting for streamlined reconciliation. Businesses can also onboard sellers quickly and remain compliant through Ryft’s PCI-certified hardware and software. The company’s focus on embedded finance positions it to serve both POS and property-management systems that need harmonised payment flows. Newly raised capital will be channelled into expanding operations and accelerating product development. No revenue, user, or other financial metrics were disclosed in the articles.
- Slip
Participated · Seed · Jun 2024
Slip is a London-based receipt tech startup led by CEO and founder Tash Grossman. Its platform transforms receipts into a dynamic tool for engagement, insight, and growth, offering digital receipts that are convenient, sustainable, and rewarding. Slip's API integrates with retail systems and partners including Shopify, Klaviyo, Epos Now and Sitoo, feeding customer activity insights directly into partner CRMs and marketing technology stacks. The company reports its approach has driven more than 25,000 app downloads and has been rolled out across 400 stores. Its software is used by retailers including JD Sports and Beyond Retro. Slip raised £2.5M in seed funding and intends to use the proceeds to further enhance its technology. Slip is building a retailer-agnostic mobile app that lets users receive digital receipts via QR codes, view and manage omnichannel spending, and receive personalised discounts and content. The backend software supplies retailers with product-level data and insights to inform planning. The company emphasises sustainability and aims to eliminate harmful non-recyclable receipts. Founded in 2021 by Tash Grossman and Eddy Herman, Slip is backed by an advisory team with over a century of retail and IT experience at firms including Sainsbury’s, IBM, House of Fraser, Accenture, FARFETCH, John Lewis, Harrods and Arsenal FC. Grossman (Co-founder & CEO) is a Founder Institute graduate with a management consulting background; Herman leads product development with software and security experience from Darktrace and The Hut Group. The app is due to launch in the summer and the company will use funding to support product development and continued growth.
- Laundryheap
Participated · Series A · Feb 2021
Laundryheap is a London-based on-demand laundry and dry-cleaning platform offering door-to-door services to consumer and business customers, including major brands. Founded in the UK in 2014, the company returns items to users within 24 hours. During the pandemic it introduced ‘virus wash’ services and extra-hot cleaning offerings and expanded support for B2B clients. Laundryheap has also worked to make its supply chain more sustainable through green cleaning techniques and low-carbon transport. The company operates across 11 international markets, including the UK, US, Ireland, the Netherlands, the UAE, Singapore, Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar. It intends to use the Series A proceeds to continue global expansion following growth into new markets in 2020 such as the USA, Singapore, Sweden and the Middle East. Laundryheap operates an on-demand laundry and dry-cleaning service that lets customers book pickups via an app and manages its own fleet while partnering with overnight processing facilities to offer a free 24-hour turnaround. The service targets busy professionals, families and businesses (restaurants, bars, hairdressers and Airbnb flats) and is active in London, Birmingham, Manchester, Dublin and Dubai. The company was bootstrapped for three years and reinvested profits to expand into new markets. Laundryheap reports healthy unit economics, says it breaks even in every new city within 3–6 months, and that the business as a whole is profitable. Over 80% of its business comes from repeat customers. Management plans to use new funding to accelerate growth in existing cities and to launch in four new European cities by the end of the year.
