- Freight Hero
Participated · Seed · Jul 2026
Freight Hero operates an outcome-driven service that runs the full lifecycle of brokerage loads inside customers' existing systems, using AI agents to handle more than 90% of customer load touches and a team of human operators called Heroes for judgment-intensive exceptions. The company reports it has managed more than 50,000 loads and handled millions of carrier communications. Customers have converted fixed labor costs into variable ones and are tracking toward 100%+ ROI, and a cited customer, Ally Logistics, said it grew revenue 82.4% year-over-year while not meaningfully increasing operations headcount after adopting Freight Hero. Freight Hero sells a flat fee per load model rather than selling software, positioning itself as a Service-as-a-Software / AI-native services provider. With the new funding the company plans to expand sales and marketing, hire engineering and operations staff, and extend services into billing, accounting and carrier sales. The company was founded by André Luis Martins Filho and is based in Durham, N.C.
- Renno
Participated · Seed · Dec 2025
Renno provides a digital infrastructure that structures home-renovation projects into verified milestones and holds the full project balance in escrow, releasing funds only when work is validated. This model gives contractors immediate, predictable liquidity and protects homeowners from large upfront deposits, replacing practices such as float, factoring and unprotected pre-payments. The company cites industry pain points in which 95 % of builders self-finance and €280 billion is lost annually to delayed payments, with 92 % of projects running late due to cash-flow constraints. By aligning payments with progress, Renno aims to reduce disputes and delays for the EU’s 3 million construction SMEs. Launched in the Netherlands, the startup plans to expand into Belgium, Germany, France and the UK by 2026. Its long-term vision is to become the financial backbone for Europe’s renovation sector, introducing transparency and automation to a traditionally offline market. Renno’s platform is led by co-founders Mark Slaughter (CEO) and Mourad Chennaoui (CPTO) and is backed by investors experienced in early-stage fintech infrastructure.
