Throne Science makes a discreet sensor that attaches to standard toilets and, combined with an AI-powered companion app, passively tracks bathroom habits to surface patterns in digestive health, hydration status, and urinary function. The company was founded in 2023, is based in Austin, Texas, and launched to consumers in March 2026. In July it introduced a beta Gut Health AI coach that lets users ask questions about their gut health data and receive personalized feedback. Throne has hired leaders from consumer wearable and health tech companies and added medical advisors and a chief of science to its team. Financially, Throne announced a $10 million Series A to support personnel growth and R&D. Its stated long-term mission is to develop the technology into a home-based continuous screener for early signs of colorectal cancer and cancers of the urinary tract.

Employers set a fixed pre-tax monthly allowance that employees can apply toward insurance premiums, and employees receive guidance from licensed brokers to select marketplace plans. The company leverages the IRS rule enabling ICHRAs to remove the complexity of employer-sponsored benefits and focuses on covering the most burdensome expense: insurance premiums. StretchDollar says its platform is free for small businesses to use and emphasizes speed and simplicity compared with traditional group plans. The company is working with carriers including Oscar Health to expand affordable coverage access for underserved small employers. Founded in 2023, StretchDollar is headquartered in San Francisco and Pittsburgh and aims to expand its self-service platform and improve the small-business benefits experience. The product partners with platforms including Poshmark, Depop, eBay, ThredUp, Vestiaire Collective, Rebag, Grailed, GOAT, StockX and TheLuxuryCloset and the company earns a percentage of sales it drives to those sites. Gently grew from a manual search service to a platform now serving tens of thousands of users every day and aims to reach 1 million daily users by 2024. The company announced a $2 million pre-seed capital infusion and plans to deploy the funds into product and technology development to improve search, launch SMS functionality and build a sizing feature. Gently is hiring to expand its six-person team and intends to broaden beyond fashion into other categories, including furniture. The founders are also eyeing a Series A in 2023.
