Overview

Veteran Ventures Capital invests in vetted investment opportunities to qualified veteran-affiliated businesses. We interact in businesses with military veteran leadership exclusively because we recognize the value of their experience, training, and character. We are a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) full-service investment and consulting firm. Veteran Fund I (Fund) is a venture fund formed in Knoxville, TN, in partnership with Shefford Capital and InfraLinx Capital. VVC is linked to the Sheltowee Capital Network and Appalachian Angel Investor Alliance, both of which are devoted to identifying high-growth ventures throughout the country. The Fund is engaged in the business of investing exclusively in veteran-led companies that the Managers believes are viable but, require new strategies, more capital, and enhanced management. Using multiple strategies, the Fund seeks to achieve a high level of absolute returns that are uncorrelated with the market. The Fund pursues its investment objective focused on capital appreciation while reducing volatility. The Fund was initially capitalized at $1M, but will continue to raise funds until $50M is reached or the Fund is fully invested. The Fund plans to typically invest $250K-$1M at the early stage, where investors are actively involved with the founders to help them build successful companies, and may provide larger follow-on investments.

  • Hybron Technologies

    Participated · Seed · Apr 2026

Hybron Technologies develops proprietary composite manufacturing processes—including a hybrid chopped-fiber polymer approach—that the company says can produce complex parts up to 100 times faster than conventional composite methods while delivering structural performance comparable to continuous carbon-fiber materials. Hybron asserts its components can be up to 90% lighter than many aerospace-grade metals and that its all-U.S. supply chain helps reduce costs. The company’s initial product efforts are focused on composite 155mm artillery shell casings and turbine fan blades, both in advanced prototyping. Hybron was founded in 2022, is headquartered in El Segundo, California, and is a graduate of the Northrop Grumman Technology Accelerator. With the recent $20 million Series Seed, Hybron plans to expand engineering and manufacturing capacity and move toward low-rate initial munitions production and broader commercial deployment.

  • Agile Space Industries

    Participated · Series A · Feb 2026

Founded in 2009 in Durango by Daudi Barnes, Agile Space Industries builds high-performance chemical propulsion systems, using metal additive manufacturing and extensive in-house test facilities. The company supports a broad spectrum of commercial, civil, and national security space missions with its rocket engines and related hardware. In 2023, Agile expanded its Durango-La Plata County Airport footprint to 40,000 square feet and plans further growth in Colorado and Oklahoma. Revenue has more than tripled in the past three years, rising from about $8 million in 2022 to $28 million projected for 2026, and the business has grown over 70% annually since 2020. With the new capital, management intends to scale from developing two to three engines per year to six or more and boost tank and engine delivery capacity nearly tenfold. The company positions itself as a critical domestic supplier at a time when U.S. demand for chemical propulsion is rising.

  • Cambium

    Participated · Series B · Jan 2026

Cambium fuses artificial intelligence, chemical informatics, and high-performance computing to create entirely new monomers and polymers hundreds of times faster than traditional R&D methods. The company then manufactures, tests, and scales these materials in-house on proprietary, aerospace-qualified production lines located in the U.S., the U.K., and Europe, enabling rapid prototyping and immediate scale-up for supply-chain security. Its product portfolio already includes ultra-high-temperature polymers, carbon-carbon thermal protection systems (ApexShield 1000™), machining-ready composite billets for solid-rocket motors, and metal-to-composite adhesives for air and space structures. A common platform approach allows Cambium to extend into future verticals such as optical and directed-energy protection and high-temperature foams. The recent acquisition of SHD gives Cambium one of the world’s largest qualified prepreg, film, and adhesive capacities, strengthening its global manufacturing footprint. Active contracts on multiple defense Programs of Record and dual-use applications position Cambium as a preferred advanced-materials partner across land, sea, air, and space. Investors describe the business as driving “fast, profitable growth,” though specific revenue or user metrics were not disclosed. The new capital will fund expansion of its distributed, secure manufacturing network and accelerate its product pipeline.

  • Vatn Systems

    Participated · Series A · Dec 2025

Founded in 2023 in Rhode Island by maritime practitioners and defense engineers, Vatn Systems is building scalable fleets of autonomous underwater vehicles for the U.S. military, allied governments, and civilian customers. Its flagship platforms, the Skelmir S6 and Skelmir S12, combine a plug-and-play payload architecture with INStinct, the company’s proprietary inertial navigation system that provides GPS-denied guidance at a fraction of traditional costs. The vehicles support distributed sensing, ISR, mine countermeasures, electronic warfare, and other emerging undersea missions, and can be re-configured for offshore energy, port security, and environmental monitoring in days rather than months. Throughout 2025 the company delivered AUVs to U.S. government customers, ran successful open-water demonstrations, and ramped production capacity to meet growing demand. Vatn positions itself as a future “underwater defense prime” by offering attritable, mass-deployable systems that align with shifting naval doctrines. Commercially, the same low-cost autonomy unlocks persistent coastal infrastructure monitoring and scientific research opportunities. The recent capital infusion is intended to accelerate production scaling and broaden mission profiles for both defense and civilian markets.
