    Xeltis develops implantable vascular and cardiovascular devices based on its Restorex® platform, which uses an advanced polymer implant that transforms into the patient’s own tissue and is gradually absorbed. Its lead product, aXess™, is an implantable blood vessel for hemodialysis vascular access that has received CE Mark approval and is being commercially deployed in Europe. The company is enrolling a US pivotal trial of aXess™ (now >50% enrolled) and is preparing for FDA submission and a US market launch. Xeltis plans to use recent funding to support European commercial rollout, upscale manufacturing and advance its XABG and XPAD clinical programs. Financially, the company raised €50m in 2025 from the European Investment Bank and existing shareholders and added €20.5m in 2026 from new and existing investors to fund its next phase of clinical, regulatory and commercial execution.

The startup counts mobile-network operators, insurers and consumer-goods manufacturers among its early customers. buynomics was founded in 2018 by Ingo Reinhardt and Sebastian Baier and is based in Cologne. At the time of the report the team comprised around 10 employees. The company recently attracted external capital in the form of a six-figure investment.

  • Somagenetix

    Somagenetix was founded in 2019 as a spin-off of the University of Zurich and focuses on curing phagocyte disorders with one-time gene therapies. The company has built a lentiviral gene therapy platform and holds three IP assets. Its lead candidate, SGX-001, is being developed for p47 Chronic Granulomatous Disease, an inherited immunodeficiency that impairs phagocyte function and causes recurrent life‑threatening infections. Preclinical development of the p47‑CGD program is supported by the Wyss Zurich Translational Center. Somagenetix aims to start clinical application of SGX-001 during 2026 and to expand the platform to other phagocyte-related diseases. The company recently closed financing to advance its lead candidate and appointed Dr. Andrin Oswald as CEO to lead the clinical-stage transition.
