We invest our own money, which makes us different from Venture Capitalists. Another important aspect is the level of involvement. Between the six of us we have more than 70 years of experience working in tech companies. Ranging from technical to sales to finance roles. We aim to help the founders of a startup to get from a first version to a version that proofs the business model. Our involvement is in the form of a mentoring shareholder.

Wercker provides a continuous delivery platform that automates building and deploying microservices and applications via custom automation pipelines whose steps produce containers as artifacts. The platform uses a wercker.yml file to define build and deploy steps. The company open sourced its Command Line Interface (CLI) to empower developers to develop, build and deploy containerized applications on OSX and Linux. Wercker says it will use the new funds to drive developer adoption, expand into the enterprise market and deepen its automation capabilities with more complex development pipelines. The company raised $4.5M in the reported round, bringing total funding to $7.5M. Leadership includes founder and CEO Micha Hernández van Leuffen and CTO Andy Smith. Wercker is based in Amsterdam and also has offices in San Francisco. Wercker is a cloud-based continuous deployment platform that helps developers build, test and deploy applications to increase velocity. Its API allows developers to create and use containers alongside custom build and deploy pipelines. The platform integrates with popular version control providers such as GitHub and Bitbucket. Wercker is led by founder and CEO Micha Hernández van Leuffen and CTO Andy Smith (an OpenStack co-founder). The company raised $2.4m in funding and intends to use the proceeds for further international expansion and continued development of the Wercker platform. Wercker operates from Amsterdam and San Francisco. Wercker is a cloud continual-delivery SaaS that helps developers test and deploy small, frequent code changes and surface connections between pushes. The platform integrates through APIs with services like GitHub and Heroku to automate testing and deployment; it is currently free and in private beta. The team is considering integration with Cloud Foundry to target enterprise hybrid and private cloud markets, and plans to add the service to the Heroku Add-On Marketplace and build out for AWS. Wercker competes with services such as CloudBees, CircleCi and CloudMunch. The company participated in the 2012 Rockstart Accelerator and Mozilla’s WebFWD program, and received help from NexusLabs in refining its pitch. It has assembled an advisory board including Dan Harple, Jan Pieter Scheerder and Arthur van Hoff.
