  • Bizbaz

    Participated · Seed · Sep 2022

Bizbaz builds customer intelligence and risk-management solutions that aggregate digital footprints (including social media and frequently used smartphone apps) and can assess personality and risk appetite via a short 45-second conversation when a smartphone is unavailable. The company tailors templates by country and industry and customizes solutions using client data rather than a one-size-fits-all product. Bizbaz employs nearly 20 people with backgrounds in behavioral science, health tech, AI and data; its development team is mainly in the Middle East, its data team in India, and its sales, business development and product teams operate from Southeast Asia. The startup says it has generated organic, positive month-on-month revenue growth. Bizbaz plans to spend 20–30% of the new funding on outreach and marketing, upgrade its web presence, recruit additional data and software developers and analysts, and invest in product development. It is also exploring deployments of its solutions within parts of HSBC in Asia and Europe while retaining autonomy to bring in other partners and customers.

  • Borong

    Led · Series A · Jan 2022

Dropee operates a B2B wholesale marketplace and integrated SaaS e-commerce platform focused on food & beverages and fast-moving consumer goods, automating payments, order tracking and offline-to-online workflows. The platform uses an AI-based smart catalog to personalize product recommendations and supports ordering via marketplace or assigned sales agents. Dropee has more than 80,000 SME users (mainly small retail stores) and reports over $100 million in annualized transaction value. It began offering financial products in November 2020, including up to 60-day invoice and supply-chain credit, and evaluates creditworthiness using transaction and network data captured on the platform. The company is operational in Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia and says the new financing will expand its supply-chain financing and credit-term offerings. Over the next 12 months Dropee plans to introduce additional financing products for wholesalers and retailers by partnering with regional banks and non-banking financial institutions.

  • Pomona

    Led · Series A · Jul 2019

Pomona builds omnichannel marketing and sales software that enables consumer brands to offer cashback incentives and analyze customer engagement, offline sales conversion, and campaign effectiveness. Its core product lets consumers redeem cashback by scanning receipts in the Pomona app, and it also offers white‑label solutions for partners to launch branded cashback apps. The platform was developed for consumer packaged goods and fast‑moving consumer goods, and the company currently works with more than 50 brands, including Unilever, Japfa, ABC President, Sosro, Frisian Flag and Sungai Budi. Pomona says the new funding will be used to add services with the goal of becoming an end‑to‑end solution that provides brands with more data points. The company also plans to expand into additional Southeast Asian markets, though specific countries have not been disclosed. Pomona raised a $3 million Series A‑2 in this round.
