- New Space Intelligence
Participated · Series A · Apr 2026
New Space Intelligence offers a “Satellite Data Pipeline” that automates selection, integration (harmonization), analysis, and provisioning of heterogeneous satellite data for applications like infrastructure monitoring and disaster analysis. Its core capabilities include calibration using ground-based mirror reflectors combined with AI-driven image quality evaluation and correction, plus harmonization technology to combine data from multiple satellites for higher-frequency observation and continuity. The company targets public and industrial customers across use cases such as railways, roads, power infrastructure monitoring, disaster response, illegal dumping detection, and land use analysis. Following its ¥430 million Series A, the firm plans to expand existing services, build new GLI-based applications, strengthen product development, and grow sales, marketing, and hiring. It also intends to expand geographically into Asia, North America, and Africa. New Space Intelligence was selected for JAXA’s Space Strategy Fund Phase 2 project and will develop sensor evaluation and calibration methods under that program through September 2030.
- FullDepth
Participated · Series D · Dec 2025
FullDepth is a Japanese industrial underwater drone manufacturer founded in 2014 that builds and sells domestically produced remotely operated vehicles (ROVs). In addition to hardware, the company offers underwater measurement and data analytics services to support infrastructure maintenance, offshore wind power, and other marine industries. Its platform aims to digitalize submerged assets by capturing and analyzing high-precision data, tackling Japan’s pressing need for efficient and safe underwater inspections. The firm seeks to alleviate labor shortages and safety risks associated with manual diving operations. Current priorities include boosting its data collection and analytics capabilities and widening the scope of its service offerings. With fresh capital, FullDepth will accelerate R&D on AI-driven autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) to enable automated, wide-area surveys. No revenue, customer, or other operating metrics were disclosed in the announcement.
- MetCom
Participated · Equity · Nov 2025
MetCom is a Tokyo-based company developing next-generation ground-wave 3D positioning, navigation and timing (PNT) services. Its terrestrial system transmits signals up to 100,000 times stronger than GNSS, enabling centimetre-level, high-reliability location and time data across indoor, underground and dense urban areas. The technology earned top scores in every category of the U.S. Department of Transportation’s alternative PNT evaluations, underscoring its accuracy and resilience. In 2024 the company began a J-SPARC co-creation program with JAXA to combine its network with the quasi-zenith satellite “Michibiki,” further enhancing jamming resistance and precision. MetCom intends to deploy a nationwide base-station network to serve drones, air mobility, autonomous driving and other Society 5.0 applications. Proceeds from recent financings will fund construction and operation of this infrastructure. Including the new round, the company has raised roughly ¥2.2 billion to date, and views securing a robust domestic PNT capability as a national imperative.
- YAMAP
Participated · Series D · May 2024
YAMAP launched its service in 2013 and operates a smartphone‑based outdoor platform focused on mountaineering and other outdoor activities. Its flagship app displays current location and routes using GPS even where cellular service is unavailable, and includes off‑route alerts and location‑sharing functions to enhance user safety. The company recently completed a Series D financing that amounted to ¥2.04 billion (20.4億円) and includes debt. YAMAP has established a wholly owned insurance subsidiary, YAMAP Naturelance Insurance (ネイチャランス損保), to develop insurance products that leverage the platform's accumulated big data. Initial products include an outdoor leisure policy with witness‑information collection and an outdoor household/gear policy; YAMAP will sell these as an insurance agent starting May 28 and will allocate part of the proceeds to mountain rescue and accident‑prevention activities. The company is developing telematics, dynamic‑pricing insurance based on user behavior data targeting summer 2024 and aims to use accumulated accident data to reduce outdoor accidents and build a proprietary insurtech offering. Sefuri operates Yamap, a mobile app that provides offline location tracking and a social platform for mountain climbers and hikers. Since its March 2013 launch the app has recorded 260,000 downloads, 160,000 registered users, 2.2 million photos and 9 million monthly page views. The company has expanded services to include an insurance service for hikers, Yamap Geers (a price-comparison site for outdoor gear), and Hyakkei (an online outdoor media site). It has partnered with camera manufacturers and had the app pre-installed on Kyocera’s Torque smartphone and Casio’s WSD-F10 smartwatch, and worked with Olympus on outdoor camera accessories. Sefuri is conducting a field test in Niseko offering offline maps and has posted more than 400 English-language updates from domestic and inbound visitors. Management says the newly raised funds will be used to operate the business while the team focuses on improving services rather than pursuing profitability for at least a year, and plans to add gamified, geolocation-based features (stickers for summits, Streetpass-like communication) with support from Colopl.
- Tenchijin
Participated · Series A · Jan 2024
Tenchijin merges satellite big data with proprietary AI algorithms to deliver insights that make invisible ground-level risks and value visible. Its core product, the water-utility digital-transformation service “Uchū Suidokyoku,” launched in April 2023 and has already been adopted by numerous municipalities, surpassing 50 cumulative contracts by September 2025. Beyond water infrastructure, the company is extending its technology stack to agriculture and renewable-energy applications and is even developing its own satellites to build an end-to-end data platform. The newly raised funds will be directed toward hiring engineers, enhancing satellite-data analysis and water-resource-monitoring algorithms, expanding domestic and international sales networks, and strengthening its multi-satellite cloud data infrastructure. Branding and market-awareness initiatives are also planned. Headquartered in Tokyo’s Nihonbashi district, Tenchijin positions its mission as “optimizing human civilization through space big data.” Including the latest round, its total funding—equity and debt—now stands at roughly ¥1.9 billion.
