Arkadia Space
Carretera CV-13, Km. 2,4, Benlloch, Castellón, 12181, Spain
Overview
Arkadia Space is developing a hypergolic bipropellant propulsion system using high-concentration hydrogen peroxide and a proprietary green fuel intended to replace toxic propellants like hydrazine. Its technology offers instantaneous ignition on contact and the company says it can reduce operational and refuelling costs by more than 60% versus conventional solutions. Arkadia achieved an in-orbit validation of its DARK propulsion system in March 2025 aboard a D-Orbit satellite launched on a SpaceX mission, marking the first time a hydrogen peroxide-based propulsion system reached space in Europe. The company aims to commercialise the technology soon and is expanding R&D and testing infrastructure to support scale-up. Its recent €14.5M EIC-backed financing package (grant, EIC Fund equity and private investment) supports these commercial and technical plans.
