    Participated · Series C · Mar 2026

PLD Space is developing the MIURA 5, a two-stage, partially reusable rocket designed to deploy small satellites into orbit with higher flexibility and reduced scheduling complexity. The company plans MIURA 5’s first test flight in 2026 and expects the vehicle to support up to 30 missions per year from several spaceports, including the Guiana Space Centre. PLD Space aims to scale its industrial and launch infrastructure to serve a global pipeline of commercial and institutional customers. The MIURA 5 program emphasizes reusability to provide a more sustainable approach to launches. Financially, PLD Space reported securing €210 million in 2026, which includes a €180 million Series C closed in March and a €30 million venture debt loan from the European Investment Bank. The company positions itself among a select group of private firms developing end-to-end launch systems to enable reliable access to space.

  • Arkadia Space

    Led · Equity · Feb 2026

Arkadia Space is developing a hypergolic bipropellant propulsion system using high-concentration hydrogen peroxide and a proprietary green fuel intended to replace toxic propellants like hydrazine. Its technology offers instantaneous ignition on contact and the company says it can reduce operational and refuelling costs by more than 60% versus conventional solutions. Arkadia achieved an in-orbit validation of its DARK propulsion system in March 2025 aboard a D-Orbit satellite launched on a SpaceX mission, marking the first time a hydrogen peroxide-based propulsion system reached space in Europe. The company aims to commercialise the technology soon and is expanding R&D and testing infrastructure to support scale-up. Its recent €14.5M EIC-backed financing package (grant, EIC Fund equity and private investment) supports these commercial and technical plans.

  • Gyala Therapeutics

    Led · Grant · Feb 2026

Founded in 2020 as a spin-off of Hospital Clínic Barcelona and IDIBAPS, Gyala Therapeutics is advancing novel cell therapies that address unmet needs in blood cancers. Its lead candidate, GYA01, is a first-in-class CAR-T targeting the CD84 protein, which is highly over-expressed in acute myeloid leukemia, T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, and other hematologic malignancies. The company has received authorization from the Spanish Agency of Medicines and Medical Devices to begin a Phase I/IIa clinical trial of GYA01 at Hospital La Fe in Valencia and Hospital Clínic Barcelona. Gyala plans to use its newest capital to accelerate this trial, with Dr. Pau Montesinos and Dr. Jordi Esteve serving as principal investigators. To date, the biotech has secured €11 million in equity financing from Invivo Partners, Nara Capital, and CDTI Innvierte, supplemented by several Spanish innovation grants such as NEOTEC and Public-Private Collaboration Projects. The latest non-dilutive award brings total capital raised to roughly €14.7 million.

  • Dalan Animal Health

    Participated · Grant · Nov 2025

Dalan Animal Health is a bioscience company that created the world’s first USDA-approved vaccine for honeybees and is now advancing what it says will be the first commercial shrimp vaccine. Built on its proprietary Innate Immunity Platform, the firm targets conserved pattern-recognition receptors shared across animal species to deliver broad-spectrum disease protection. After launching its honeybee vaccine, the company is focusing on regulatory approval, manufacturing scale-up, and commercial rollout of its shrimp vaccine to help mitigate the estimated $4 billion in annual shrimp industry losses from disease. Concurrently, Dalan is investigating platform extensions into poultry and additional aquaculture species to reduce antibiotic dependence in food production. The business operates globally, including a European subsidiary, Dalan Bio SL, which recently secured a €250 K grant to conduct pan-European surveillance of honeybee diseases. Recognition for its technology includes TIME’s Best Inventions, Fast Company’s Next Big Things in Tech, and SVG THRIVE Global Impact Challenge winner (2025). The latest financing leaves the company capitalized to complete shrimp vaccine commercialization and expand its product pipeline, though no revenue or user metrics were disclosed.
