Overview

Atrandi Biosciences develops single-cell multiomics tools using its patented semi-permeable capsule (SPC) technology to simplify complex workflows and accelerate scientific discoveries. Its flagship products include the Flux Microfluidic Device for high-throughput single-cell isolation into SPCs, the Onyx Droplet Generator for single-cell and single-molecule applications, and the Styx High-Throughput Screening Platform for fluorescence-activated droplet sorting. The company positions its technology to enable research into cellular heterogeneity, clonal evolution, microbiome diversity, microbial ecology, and related areas. Led by CEO Juozas Nainys, Atrandi is focused on product development and market expansion. The company recently completed a financing to support growth and U.S. expansion. Atrandi Biosciences builds microfluidic platforms and single-cell analysis tools, including the Styx high-throughput screening platform and the Onyx droplet generator. The company has developed a proprietary semi-permeable capsule technology intended to increase biological information content and scale of single-cell experiments. Atrandi supplies systems to more than 50 academic and commercial laboratories worldwide. The team embraces an open-source approach to assay designs and consumables and provides scientific support to customers. The company is advancing global commercialization and is establishing a direct team to support customers in the U.S. Atrandi recently completed a $4.8 million financing round to accelerate commercialization and product rollout. Droplet Genomics develops hardware, consumables and software to commercialize droplet microfluidics, a high-throughput approach for studying single cells and single molecules. The technology aims to enable researchers to perform complex biological analyses and accelerate drug discovery research faster, cheaper and with increased sensitivity. The company intends to create easy-to-use workflows and is developing an integrated system for high-throughput screening slated for release in Q1 2021, complementing an existing integrated research system. Its innovations target applications in complex biological systems analysis and, in the longer term, personalized medicine and complex disease diagnostics. Main clients are universities, research institutes and biotechnology companies in Europe and the USA. In January 2021 Droplet Genomics completed a €1M seed round to expand its IP portfolio and accelerate commercialization of new products.
