ClimateView is a Stockholm-based climate action technology company led by CEO Einar Bodström. It offers ClimateOS, a SaaS-based impact intelligence platform that combines data and systemic analysis to help cities plan, manage and fund the transition to net zero. ClimateOS gives cities a comprehensive view of climate mitigation decisions and the socio-economic benefits of climate action to secure investments. The platform is currently used by 30+ cities including Madrid, Dortmund, Cincinnati and Nottingham. ClimateView closed a €14m funding round and intends to use the funds to develop its climate finance platform and to support cities in their climate investment planning as part of the EU’s '100 Climate-neutral and Smart Cities' program. The company focuses on providing impact intelligence and tools to help cities secure investments for climate action. Climate View builds ClimateOS, a software-as-a-service that turns climate data into actionable transition plans for policymakers by mapping emissions sources and slicing the big-picture into deliverable steps. The company was founded in Sweden by Tomer Shalit, who adapted agile and consultancy approaches to help public bodies plan and monitor net-zero pathways. ClimateOS is used to understand present metrics (eg, miles driven or square meters heated), define targets aligned with the Paris Agreement, provide building blocks for transition, and monitor progress. The startup sells primarily to city authorities and has deployed its services in around 30 cities, including Newcastle (U.K.), Mannheim (Germany) and Bern (Switzerland). Climate View emphasizes partnering with city governments because cities account for the majority of emissions and can share best practices. To fund further growth, the company has recently secured VC financing. ClimateView develops monitoring and visualization software that gives cities visibility into emissions, development, and projected urban planning data to accelerate decarbonization decisions. Its flagship Panorama product provides a central hub for development, emissions, and planning data. The platform is used to help cities and municipalities plan climate mitigation and resilience measures. ClimateView has worked with the Swedish Climate Policy Council to produce a publicly available digital roadmap using its software. The company says its solution is gaining traction in a number of cities worldwide and aims to support cities and nations in working toward carbon neutrality. ClimateView raised $2.5 million in its latest financing round to support its work.
