- Paebbl
Participated · Series A · Oct 2024
Paebbl focuses on eliminating the carbon footprint of cement by replacing carbon-intensive clinker with a magnesium-based silicate binder that permanently locks away CO₂ through accelerated mineral carbonation. The company’s process yields supplementary cementitious materials—or partial clinker replacements—without compromising strength or durability. To speed development, Paebbl and its research partners employ machine-learning models and advanced simulations that optimize both the mineralization reaction and the design of low-carbon concrete mixes. Industrial validation is a priority: the project consortium includes precast concrete leader Consolis and global building-materials firm Holcim, alongside Delft University of Technology and KU Leuven. Paebbl has also launched what it calls the world’s first continuous CO₂ mineralization demonstration plant, underscoring its move from lab science to real-world deployment. The firm’s approach positions concrete not just as a lower-emission material but as an active carbon sink, aligning with EU goals to decarbonize hard-to-abate sectors.
- Bene Bono
Participated · Equity · Mar 2024
Bene Bono operates a sustainable grocery service that sources food and non-food items rejected by traditional channels and offers them to consumers at lower prices. Customers can place fully customizable weekly orders via a technology platform that currently lists over 500 saved products. The company has developed a private label (seven products) and delivered weekly in six French urban areas and surroundings. In 2023 users saved over 2,100 tons of products. With new funding, Bene Bono plans to hire strategic roles (Director of Purchasing, Head of Product, Lead Data Manager), expand its saved-product range to 1,000 references by year-end, and grow its presence in France and Spain. It also aims to reduce its environmental footprint through reusable bags and electric-vehicle and bicycle deliveries while further optimizing logistics and product features. Hors Normes helps French organic farmers and producers sell their rejected share of stock (about 5% on average) directly to consumers, offering prices up to 40% lower than organic stores. The company positions itself as an anti-food-waste e-grocery that reduces carbon footprint while providing additional income to producers. Founded in 2020, Hors Normes is operational in 125 towns including Paris, Lyon and Marseille, has roughly 7,000 regular customers and has saved 400 tonnes of fruit and vegetables since launch. Its assortment currently spans roughly 30 references with plans to expand that range substantially. The company plans to expand to five new French cities by the end of 2023 and to enter Germany, Spain and Italy. Hors Normes also intends to add fresh products, develop basket-customisation features and roll out a mobile app by the end of summer.

- ClimateView
Led · Series B · Jun 2023
ClimateView is a Stockholm-based climate action technology company led by CEO Einar Bodström. It offers ClimateOS, a SaaS-based impact intelligence platform that combines data and systemic analysis to help cities plan, manage and fund the transition to net zero. ClimateOS gives cities a comprehensive view of climate mitigation decisions and the socio-economic benefits of climate action to secure investments. The platform is currently used by 30+ cities including Madrid, Dortmund, Cincinnati and Nottingham. ClimateView closed a €14m funding round and intends to use the funds to develop its climate finance platform and to support cities in their climate investment planning as part of the EU’s '100 Climate-neutral and Smart Cities' program. The company focuses on providing impact intelligence and tools to help cities secure investments for climate action. Climate View builds ClimateOS, a software-as-a-service that turns climate data into actionable transition plans for policymakers by mapping emissions sources and slicing the big-picture into deliverable steps. The company was founded in Sweden by Tomer Shalit, who adapted agile and consultancy approaches to help public bodies plan and monitor net-zero pathways. ClimateOS is used to understand present metrics (eg, miles driven or square meters heated), define targets aligned with the Paris Agreement, provide building blocks for transition, and monitor progress. The startup sells primarily to city authorities and has deployed its services in around 30 cities, including Newcastle (U.K.), Mannheim (Germany) and Bern (Switzerland). Climate View emphasizes partnering with city governments because cities account for the majority of emissions and can share best practices. To fund further growth, the company has recently secured VC financing. ClimateView develops monitoring and visualization software that gives cities visibility into emissions, development, and projected urban planning data to accelerate decarbonization decisions. Its flagship Panorama product provides a central hub for development, emissions, and planning data. The platform is used to help cities and municipalities plan climate mitigation and resilience measures. ClimateView has worked with the Swedish Climate Policy Council to produce a publicly available digital roadmap using its software. The company says its solution is gaining traction in a number of cities worldwide and aims to support cities and nations in working toward carbon neutrality. ClimateView raised $2.5 million in its latest financing round to support its work.

The company has worked with Bpifrance to measure footprints for portfolio companies including Orange and OpenClassrooms. Financially, Sweep has raised $27 million in total less than a year after its launch. Sweep is a Parisian SaaS company that offers a carbon accounting and offset platform to visualize a company’s emissions by brand, location, product or division, and to link those nodes to suppliers and distributors. Its toolkit emphasizes automation, connectivity and collaboration to help companies tackle indirect Scope 3 emissions. The product also enables users to finance offset projects directly from the platform, with offsets primarily in the forestry space. Sweep publicly announced its commercial launch after building the product and team, positioning net zero as an operational business objective rather than a sustainability-only effort. The founding team includes former BIME Analytics co-founders and ex-Zendesk colleagues, bringing enterprise-software pedigree to the product. Financially, Sweep raised $5 million for the product before launching a beta, giving it early capital to support commercial rollout.
