VARM was founded by Christian Grüner, a former Siemens Advanta executive, and Sebastian Würz, co-founder of housing platform Homefully. The startup says its approach addresses a major qualified-worker shortage that limits large-scale energy-efficiency upgrades across Europe. With the Series A funding, VARM plans to expand its operations and further scale its workforce model to support growing demand for insulation projects. To speed development, Paebbl and its research partners employ machine-learning models and advanced simulations that optimize both the mineralization reaction and the design of low-carbon concrete mixes. Industrial validation is a priority: the project consortium includes precast concrete leader Consolis and global building-materials firm Holcim, alongside Delft University of Technology and KU Leuven. Paebbl has also launched what it calls the world’s first continuous CO₂ mineralization demonstration plant, underscoring its move from lab science to real-world deployment.
