- Hephae Energy Technology
Participated · Series A · Jul 2026
Hephae Energy Technology develops ultrahigh-temperature robotics, including drilling systems designed to enable precise well positioning for geothermal projects by overcoming temperature and reliability limitations of conventional drilling tools. Its technology aims to access deeper, hotter rock to support expanded geothermal energy development and to increase drilling speed and reliability. The company is led by CEO Steve Krase and is based in Houston, TX. Financially, Hephae has now raised a total of $24.7M following its $17.8M Series A. The newly raised funds are intended to accelerate commercial deployment of its advanced drilling systems and move the company toward broader market commercialization.
- Sage Geosystems
Participated · Series B · Jan 2026
Sage Geosystems is a Houston-based pressure geothermal company that extracts energy from hot dry rock by harnessing both the earth’s heat and natural pressure. Its proprietary system supports three main applications: grid-scale energy storage, 24/7 power generation, and direct heating, which together broaden geothermal’s viable geography beyond traditional hydrothermal regions. The firm is currently building its first commercial pressure-geothermal power facility within an existing Ormat power plant, showcasing a pathway to low-cost, baseload renewable electricity. In 2024 Sage signed an agreement with Meta to supply up to 150 MW of geothermal baseload power for data-center expansion east of the Rocky Mountains. Proceeds from the latest financing will fund continued technology development, construction of the inaugural commercial plant, and expansion of its energy-storage offering. Following its Series B, the company has raised more than $97 million to date, backed by a mix of strategic energy players and climate-focused investors. Although Sage has not disclosed revenue or user metrics, the size of this round underscores investor confidence in its ability to scale geothermal as a global clean-energy resource.
- Ignis H2 Energy
Led · Series A · Feb 2025
Ignis H2 Energy develops geothermal power-producing projects across multiple high-enthalpy regions, leveraging oil-and-gas expertise and a panel of geothermal specialists. The company is technology-agnostic and focuses on opportunities that can be developed with today’s proven geothermal technologies. Ignis applies cutting-edge machine learning models to predict, locate, and explore geothermal resources more efficiently, aiming to lower drilling risk and improve outcomes. Its portfolio includes opportunities in Turkey, Alaska, California, Nevada, Italy and other global sites. The company is targeting the development of one gigawatt of documented producible geothermal reserves by 2030. Financially, Ignis announced a Series A first close of $12.5 million to advance its exploration and development pipeline.
- TerraThermo
Led · Equity · Jul 2024
TerraThermo Limited is an Irish company formed to be a leading European deep geothermal power generation company delivering Energy From Rocks™. Its core focus is deploying enhanced "Hot Dry Rock" geothermal technology to provide low-carbon baseload power and energy storage at industrial scale. The company's first project, Projekt Thermo, aims to develop a 12MW Hot Dry Rock geothermal power plant in Lower Saxony, Germany. TerraThermo intends to subsequently develop larger deep geothermal power generation and storage projects across Europe. The company has secured an Investment Agreement with alfa8 that provides up to €1m in working capital and up to €32.5m in future financings for Projekt Thermo, subject to conditions. - Hive
Participated · Series A · Jun 2024
Hive Technologies offers an end-to-end operations platform that integrates with shops and marketplaces to automate freight booking, order picking and packing, and return management. The company has developed proprietary Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Transport Management System (TMS) and provides multi-channel inventory and order management, intelligent carrier selection, personalisation tools, and a consumer-facing tracking and returns solution. Hive launched Delivery Promise, which can increase conversion rates by up to 30% by giving consumers accurate estimated delivery dates. On average the platform saves commerce brands 17% on costs and can generate up to 24% revenue uplift. Since its 2020 founding the company has expanded across Germany, France, Italy, Spain and the UK and recently strengthened leadership with new COO, CPO, and Chief Growth Officer hires. Hive plans to use the new funding to accelerate growth and product development and is targeting profitability next year. Hive provides a combined software and operations platform that helps direct-to-consumer brands manage sourcing, fulfillment and delivery, including real-time sync of inventory and order data. The company is building proprietary warehouse software to improve fulfillment speed and reliability. With the new capital Hive plans geographic expansion, starting with Paris in early 2022, and to build a pan-European offering for customers. Since inception, Hive says its revenue grew tenfold and it processes around a thousand packages per day. The company has more than 100 employees and plans to triple its business team by next year. To date Hive has raised $44M (approx €38.3M) in total funding. Hive is a Berlin-based direct-to-consumer logistics platform founded in 2020 by Oskar Ziegler, Franz Purucker and Leonard von Kleist. It offers a software solution that eases fulfillment for e-commerce firms, combining customised analytics, forecasts and suggestions with its own in-house logistics centres. Hive positions itself as an alternative to Amazon by rethinking fulfillment solutions for online retailers. The company raised €6.6 million in a seed round led by Earlybird Venture Capital, with participation from Amplifier, existing investor Picus Capital and founders from Flixbus and Forto. Proceeds will be used to expand product offerings, enter new markets and grow the team. Earlybird highlighted Hive's rapid product development and customer growth, and the company is targeting a large online retail market—German online businesses generated roughly €84 billion in sales in 2020.
