Overview
CXA builds a platform that lets corporations offer employees tailored, health-flexible benefits drawn from a catalogue of more than 1,000 programs and options. The company uses data and technology to recommend personalized choices aimed at improving employee health and lowering employer premiums. CXA says it works with about 600 enterprises, including Fortune 500 firms, and reaches a collective 400,000 employees; it has more than 200 staff. To expand its footprint in China it has acquired two traditional insurance brokerages to obtain licenses and logistics for services such as health checkups. The firm is primarily focused on China, Hong Kong and Southeast Asia and is targeting SMEs in addition to large firms by partnering with banks, telcos and large service companies for distribution. Management has stated ambitions to expand to Europe and North America in the future. CXA Group offers a SaaS-based employee benefits and workplace wellness platform that uses health screening, lifestyle risks, sensor and claims data to predict future premiums. Employers use the platform to consolidate all their vendors into a single marketplace, digitizing claims, health data and payment flows between employees, companies, insurers and providers. Led by founder and CEO Rosaline Chow Koo, the company raised $25m in a Series B round. Backers included B Capital Group, EDBI, Philips and RGAx, and B Capital’s venture investor Eduardo Saverin joined the board. CXA intends to use the funds to scale its existing platform and operations beyond Singapore and Hong Kong. Target expansion markets listed include China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand.
