GoJoe offers a gamified employee health and fitness app active in more than 150 countries that uses social accountability to motivate better physical, mental and social health. The product includes gamified virtual team-based challenges, a weighted points system across 50 activities, live tracker maps and the ability to train virtually alongside celebrities and professional athletes. GoJoe also bundles Employee Assistance Programmes and health insurance in a single, centrally managed benefit and aims to break down barriers of location, language, technology and physical ability. Enterprise clients have reported measurable impact: over 61% of users noting a sizeable improvement in physical, mental and social health, with some previously sedentary users increasing activity by up to 800%. The company is working with leading health insurers to quantify effects on incidence, claims and premiums, and integrating with Human Capital Management systems to quantify impacts on reduced absences. GoJoe recently raised £2.4M to increase resources, support growth and widen its reach in the employer market. GoJoe is a hybrid consumer and B2B social fitness app that helps workplaces and brands connect and engage people through wearables, content and team-based challenges. Co-founded by CEO Will Turner and COO Phil Steele, the product socializes everyday solo exercise to help ordinary people stick to fitness and wellbeing journeys. The company collaborated with Stanford University on psychology, data and gamification to build the app. Customers include PwC, PayPal, Experian and Amazon. GoJoe raised £1.2M in its most recent funding round and intends to use the proceeds to accelerate growth and expand operations. To date it has raised over £1.3M from a wider pool of angels and funds including Olympian Alistair Brownlee MBE and individuals from private and NHS healthcare.
