Overview
Inventa operates a digital marketplace that connects small and medium-sized retailers with suppliers, recommending products based on transaction data and offering credit in 30-, 60- and 90-day increments. The company focuses on cosmetics, healthy foods and home decor, and plans to add accessories, jewelry and pet categories. Since January it has doubled metrics, growing from 400 to 800 brands, 7,000 to 18,000 products, and roughly 20,000 to more than 40,000 stores. Headcount has risen from about 100 to over 250 people, with an engineering team of around 90. Growth has been driven in part by a referral program that pays brands $50 for customers who make their first purchase. Leadership plans include hiring a head of credit in the next six months to expand its financing capabilities for retailers. Inventa operates a digital B2B marketplace that recommends products to small retailers using transaction data and offers suppliers tools to upload products, manage pricing and view sales trends. The platform extends credit to retailers in 30-, 60- and 90-day increments to ease purchases. The company offers over 7,000 products from 400 brands and has more than 20,000 customers, and is growing at over 100% month over month. Founded in March 2021, Inventa was built by CEO Marcos Salama with co-founders Laura Camargo and Fernando Carrasco and employs about 100 people, most in engineering. The new capital will be used to expand the technology team, build out sales and marketing, and scale hiring with a goal of adding roughly 400 employees. Inventa plans to grow its brand assortment to 10,000, deepen focus in cosmetics, healthy foods and home decor verticals, and eventually offer a free software product for small suppliers and retailers.
