Overview
Monta provides an integrated EV charging software platform that serves hardware manufacturers, operators, businesses and EV drivers, enabling deployment, use and management of charging infrastructure. The platform helps hardware manufacturers benchmark charge point brands, deliver usage and performance insights, and speed troubleshooting and maintenance. Monta reports one million monthly charging sessions and 130,000 charge points on its platform, and EV drivers can use its software to charge on 600,000+ charge points across Europe. Since its founding in 2020, the company has positioned itself as a hub for simplifying and streamlining charging operations. The company plans to double down on its ecosystem strategy by increasing product R&D investment and expanding its partner network across all markets. CEO Casper Rasmussen says Monta takes on the entire EV charging value chain, bridging the gap between energy providers and end users. Monta delivers an EV charging management platform that streamlines deployment, use, and management of charging infrastructure for charge point owners and EV drivers. The platform gives charge point owners visibility into usage, pricing, access, and transactions, while providing drivers with reservation, virtual queuing, payment features and access to public charge points. Monta counts customers in utilities, aviation and transportation such as Vestas, CPH Airport and PostNord, and supports wholesalers and installers. Since January 2022 the company has secured strategic partnerships with hardware manufacturers and launched a Powered by Monta program with partners including Garo, CTEK, ABB, Autel and Zaptec. Led by CEO Casper Rasmussen, Monta plans to use recent funding to expand into new markets including North America, consolidate in Scandinavia, the UK and Germany, ramp product innovation, and help digitalize the power grid and increase electricity market transparency. Monta provides an EV charging services platform and charge point management system built on open web standards to help operators manage access, pricing, transactions and usage. On the driver side the company offers reservation, virtual queuing and unified payment features within a single platform. Monta is also building a network to give users access to public charge points regardless of location. The company was founded in late 2020 by Anders Pedersen and Casper Holzmann Rasmussen, who started Monta out of frustration as EV drivers. Monta says the new capital will help it solidify its position in five active markets and expand into two new European markets later this year. Since founding the company has now raised a total of €20 million.
