Founded in 2023 by Anoop Srikantaswamy, Moonrider designs and builds electric tractors through a vertically integrated platform spanning drivetrain, battery systems and electronics. The company claims its machines can cut farming and land-preparation expenses by up to 80 percent while being priced on par with conventional diesel tractors. Its target market is the roughly one million tractors sold annually in India, where rising fuel and maintenance costs threaten farm profitability. Moonrider’s strategy focuses on heavy-duty models that improve operational efficiency and support a transition to more sustainable agriculture. The recent capital raise will fund the shift from pilot deployments to a full commercial rollout. Earlier in January, the firm secured a $2.2 million seed round that helped complete initial pilots and product validation.
