Founded in late 2023 by Dr. Prithwish Kundu, Green Aero develops turbine engines on two tracks: conventional higher-thermal-efficiency turbines and hydrogen-compatible propulsion aimed at future civil aviation. The company's most visible engineering result is a hydrogen-powered aero engine core called the Blue Dragon, which it has test-fired and describes as the first such core built in India. Green Aero is incubated at IIT Delhi and has said it targets engine efficiency roughly twice that of current global engines. A company listing references fuel-agnostic jet propulsion, supercritical CO2 turbine systems, and hydrogen-compatible engines below one kilonewton of thrust. The listing also cites signed long-term contracts worth about $3 million, but no public customers, order values, or deliveries have been disclosed. As of June 2026 the propulsion platform remains in development despite earlier timelines to bring a small-category engine to market within twelve months.

Pranos Fusion, founded in May 2024 and based in Bengaluru, is developing compact tokamak reactors and an integrated fusion technology stack. Its offerings include plasma-design and control software (JENGA), a compact tokamak platform (PRAGYA), and a high-temperature superconducting magnet program (MAGGA). The company aims to achieve longer confinement times and higher magnetic fields in a smaller physical footprint through software-driven design, plasma control, and HTS magnet technology. Pranos is collaborating with institutions such as the Institute for Plasma Research and the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research and is engaging with the global ITER program. Financially, it has raised a Rs 3.5 crore pre-seed from Industrial47, received a Rs 20 lakh Startup India Seed Fund grant, and recently closed a $6.8 million seed round to fund technology development, team growth, and testing infrastructure.

Founded in 2014 and based in Delhi, Velmenni develops Li-Fi and Free Space Optics (FSO) systems to provide secure, high-capacity optical wireless links. The company says its all-weather, Made-in-India designs can deliver over 10 Gbps across ranges of 1–25 km and avoid radio-spectrum licensing or cable trenching. Velmenni has deployed India’s first commercial carrier-grade FSO backhaul to enable a private 5G network at a GMR thermal power plant, maintaining 99.999% availability for more than 18 months in tropical conditions. It has secured a multi-million-dollar defence contract to deploy its specialised FSO solution across Indian submarines in harbour environments, and claims over 50 live deployments and multiple PoCs across India, the SEA region, and with Tier-1 mobile operators in the US. Its product has obtained CE certification and is expected to receive FCC clearance soon. The company plans to commercialize its technologies further and scale internationally while building customized defence and enterprise solutions.

Founded in 2024 by IIT Kanpur engineers Vishrant Dave, Prateesh Awasthi and Ayush Ranjan, Bengaluru-based Armatrix is building 3–5-metre snake-like robotic arms with diameters of just 50–150 mm and more than 22 degrees of freedom. The robots use an extrinsic actuation architecture—placing motors outside the arm—to improve safety and enable operations in flammable, high-temperature or liquid settings where conventional robots fail. Integrated AI provides real-time path planning, while digital-twin simulation allows operators to optimise missions before deployment. Modular end-effectors let a single arm tackle varied inspection and operational tasks without swapping machines. Target customers span shipbuilding, nuclear energy, oil and gas, and aviation, where reducing downtime and human risk is critical. The company has already demonstrated a three-metre proof-of-concept unit and plans to use new capital to finish product development, expand engineering and research teams, and launch pilots with industrial partners. Armatrix is positioning itself to capture a share of the robotics maintenance market, projected to grow from $41.66 billion in 2023 to $150 billion by 2032.

Founded in 2024 by Jay Panchal, Nithyaa Giri, and Hrishit Tambi, Aule Space builds small “jetpack” satellites capable of Rendezvous, Proximity Operations and Docking (RPOD) with other satellites in orbit. Its satellite-agnostic docking mechanism and AI-driven guidance, navigation and control algorithms aim to mitigate fuel scarcity issues for geostationary satellites, potentially adding up to six years of extra life for high-value assets. The company plans to launch its first demonstration RPOD satellites next year to validate the technology before commercial deployment. Near-term priorities include expanding the engineering team and constructing ground infrastructure for docking tests. Aule ultimately envisions operating a robotic workforce that services, inspects, and retires satellites, making space operations more sustainable and cost-efficient. Financially, the startup has secured $2 million in pre-seed capital and is backed by the Entrepreneurs First accelerator and Transpose Platform.
