Prolira makers of DeltaScan®
Padualaan 8, Utrecht, 3584 CH, The Netherlands
Overview
Prolira develops DeltaScan, a non-invasive EEG-based medical device for objective detection and monitoring of acute encephalopathy and delirium using a single-use electrode patch (DeltaScan Patch) and a hardware/software module (DeltaScan Monitor) with AI algorithms. The company says DeltaScan finds 75% more cases than usual care and enables clinicians to assess brain state within minutes. According to Prolira, delirium affects over 3 million hospitalized patients in Europe each year and some 20 million patients in EU and US hospitals are at risk of acute brain failure. Prolira is a 2015 spin-off from University Medical Center Utrecht and currently counts more than 25 hospital departments across the Netherlands, Germany, Austria and the UK as customers. The €5M growth capital will be used to increase uptake in key European countries and, after FDA clearance, to support a launch in the USA.
