Borski Fund

Mauritskade 64, Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, 1092 AD, Netherlands

Overview

Borski fund was founded based on the conviction that the investment diversity gap is real and much larger than is often thought, however that there are also ways to help close it. There is a wide array of research that indicates female entrepreneurs often deliver better results than their male counterparts, whereas >90% of VC money goes to all-male management start-ups. We believe that improving access to financing for female entrepreneurs that are looking to contribute to a better world is one of the key ways of addressing the investment diversity gap.

  • ShanX Medtech

    Led · Seed · Jan 2026

Founded in 2019 at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven, ShanX Medtech (SXM) is developing an in-vitro diagnostic (IVD) platform that performs direct-from-sample antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST). The system uses the company’s proprietary FLORA™ chemistry to monitor pathogen metabolism in real time, enabling clinicians to obtain actionable results in about sixty minutes with minimal user involvement. ShanX’s initial go-to-market focus is a women’s health application targeting urinary tract infections, though the underlying technology is positioned for broader clinical indications. The startup’s mission is to give every clinician rapid, evidence-based guidance to combat antimicrobial resistance. To date, ShanX has secured €24 million in financing, including a new €15 million seed round and an €8.85 million European Commission contract. The fresh capital will fund final product development, clinical validation, regulatory approval and commercial launch preparations. No revenue or user metrics have been disclosed.

  • Novenda Technologies

    Participated · Equity · Jul 2025

Novenda Technologies develops a full-stack multi-material 3D printing platform that produces single-piece dental products combining hard and soft materials, using water-soluble supports and proprietary software and materials. Its LD100 printer prints up to 15 nightguards and 8 dentures per hour and works exclusively with Novenda’s own materials, creating recurring consumables revenue. The company has eliminated mechanical rollers with smart print modes and uses a colour-management algorithm to achieve wide colour ranges while preserving mechanical properties. Novenda was founded in 2019 and built a team of fifteen experts across physics, chemistry, material science, and software engineering, with multiple patents filed. Early industry feedback praised surface finish and aesthetics, and the company achieved its first multi-material print in 2021 and proof of concept for nightguards and dentures in 2023. Novenda plans to expand into additional dental applications and scale deployments in mid-size and large dental labs across Europe and the US.

  • CarbonX

    Participated · Equity · Dec 2024

Founded in 2014 by Daniela Sordi and Rutger van Raalten, CarbonX is engineering a novel, locally produced anode material designed to replace graphite in lithium-ion batteries. Its patented 3D porous network improves electron and lithium transport, embeds nano-sized silicon, and ultimately raises energy density for applications such as electric vehicles. By tapping existing carbon black plants, the firm can manufacture at graphite-competitive costs while sharply reducing energy use and emissions, helping Europe and the U.S. build independent battery supply chains. Strategically based near Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, CarbonX also supports battery cell validation for customers. The company positions its process as a solution to global graphite shortages and European dependence on Asian suppliers. Although no revenue or customer numbers were disclosed, the technology has attracted attention from automotive battery stakeholders. The recent EIC award validates the technology and provides capital to accelerate commercialization and market expansion.
