Rokoko produces motion-capture hardware (a suit and gloves) and an advanced motion-editing software suite that translates tracked movement into animator-ready character animations. Its tools are aimed at emerging indie creators as well as larger studios, making high-end mocap more accessible without specialized camera studios. The company reports more than 50,000 users worldwide, including some major industry names, though the majority are indie creators. Rokoko says it was profitable for the entirety of last year. Following a strategic investment from South Korean firm Naver Z, the company plans to expand its business into Asia and integrate with Naver Z’s Zepeto ecosystem to let animators monetize creations made with Rokoko’s tools.
