Spark e-Fuels develops a patented, demand-responsive e-fuel production process designed to integrate intermittent renewable electricity and reduce the need for large hydrogen storage or grid upgrades. Its core product targets scalable, cost-competitive sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production and has wider applicability across the chemical industry’s decarbonisation. The company says its approach decouples and streamlines key production steps to handle day-to-day and seasonal variations in renewable energy supply, lowering costs while maintaining high output. With the new funding Spark plans to build its first e-fuel pilot plant, expand its team, and accelerate technology development and commercialisation. Spark was founded in 2021 and is based in Berlin. Financially, the company has raised a €2.3M pre-Seed round and has also won roughly €300k in grants.
