Truecaller, founded in 2009 and based in Stockholm, offers mobile communication apps providing caller-ID, spam protection and other smartphone solutions. Its core product identifies callers, blocks spam and delivers related smartphone features to users. The company has raised more than €70 million to date from investors including Atomico, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Sequoia Capital and Open Ocean Capital. Zenith Venture Capital has invested 100 million Swedish Krona (just over €10 million) via a purchase of existing warrants and shares. The investment enables key employees to exercise warrants and become shareholders, which CEO Alan Mamedi said supports long-term sustainability. Zenith was founded last year by Tommy Jacobson and joins Truecaller's cap table through this transaction. The app integrates third‑party data — including Yelp’s API — to verify business numbers, display Yelp ratings, and show whether Truecaller users have marked a number as spam.
