- Zonova
Participated · Seed · May 2026
Zonova develops Z-ROS®, an antimicrobial additive designed to be engineered directly into the polymers of medical devices to create infection-resistant surfaces. The company's licensing model allows global device manufacturers to integrate Z-ROS® into existing product lines without rebuilding supply chains. Early laboratory studies reported by Zonova show greater than 99.99% effectiveness against MRSA and other organisms commonly involved in hospital-acquired infections. Following the recent seed raise, Zonova plans to prioritise integration into vascular access devices, with urology, women's health and orthopaedics planned next. The company has added Dr Pamela Walker Geddes to its board as part of the recent financing. Financially, Zonova has just closed a £2.1m seed round led by THENA Capital with participation from multiple impact and angel investors.
- BioAz
Participated · Equity · Jan 2026
Founded in 2022 in Gironde by veterinarian Romain Delcombel, BioAz is a young animal-health biotech focused on replacing the controversial practice of piglet castration with an immunotherapy approach. Its lead solution aims to neutralize boar taint through a vaccine-like treatment, eliminating the need for surgical intervention and improving animal welfare. The company positions itself at the crossroads of animal health and sustainable livestock production, targeting pork producers and integrators that face increasing regulatory and consumer pressure. BioAz plans to use newly raised capital to accelerate R&D, deepen scientific collaborations, and scale industrial deployment of its first products. While still in early development, the startup has garnered interest from industry-specific investors, underscoring market demand for welfare-friendly animal health innovations. To date, BioAz has secured €900 000 in external funding; no revenue or user metrics have been disclosed.

Founded in 2020 in London, Marleybones produces Pantry Fresh® dog meals that are slow-cooked, nutritionally complete, and packaged in fully recyclable Tetra Pak cartons. Its portfolio also includes vet-developed supplements, omega oil, and natural air-dried treats, all manufactured in the UK from locally sourced British ingredients. Since its previous raise, the company has logged more than 200 % growth, expanded retail distribution, introduced functional supplements, and launched a pilot in the veterinary channel. The new capital will be used to grow creative, customer-experience, and retail teams, boost influencer and PR efforts, activate retail marketing, and accelerate customer acquisition. Management aims to make Pantry Fresh a household standard by meeting rising demand for convenient yet high-quality dog food while continuing to advance its sustainability agenda.
- Mirna
Led · Series A · Jul 2024
MI:RNA focuses on creating molecular diagnostics that combine microRNA profiling with advanced modelling to identify disease signatures in animal blood samples. Its lead program is a blood-based test designed to detect and stage canine osteoarthritis (OA) far earlier than current imaging or clinical observation methods. The test analyses specific microRNA biomarkers and runs the data through AI models to deliver an objective diagnosis, potentially reducing invasive procedures and subjectivity in veterinary practice. Current R&D work will study samples from dogs split evenly between OA cases and healthy controls, leveraging data from the Morris Animal Foundation’s Golden Retriever Lifetime Study. Future plans include validating the tool’s predictive capabilities, monitoring treatment effectiveness, and expanding to larger studies. By enabling earlier intervention, MI:RNA aims to improve outcomes for the estimated 10 million UK dogs affected by OA and the 20 % of dogs worldwide that develop the disease. The company positions its solution as a more accurate, accessible, and cost-effective diagnostic option for veterinarians.
