SCALARA, founded in 2020 and based in Brühl, provides a software platform that maps and digitises condominium, rental and special property management processes, including certified accounting with integrated payments, intelligent document management and central communication. The company said the platform digitises day-to-day workflows for property managers and aims to relieve growing regulatory and staffing pressures. SCALARA announced a €3 million financing to expand the platform and its current offering. With the new capital it plans to develop new functions in cooperation with BfW Bank, notably fully digital application channels and seamlessly integrated banking products. Those banking components are intended to speed up banking processes and bring banking and accounting closer together, improving efficiency for daily management. SCALARA and its investors framed the financing as a vote of confidence that supports the company’s independent, sustainable growth.

aedifion provides a smart, AI-powered cloud platform for real-time operational optimization of technical building systems. The platform helps building operators reduce energy use and portfolio CO2 emissions by up to 40 percent. Customers across Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, the UK and the US use aedifion to manage nearly 500 buildings totaling over 5.8 million square meters. The company was spun out of RWTH Aachen University in 2017. aedifion has experienced rapid growth, with annual recurring revenue increasing by 100 percent year-on-year in 2024–2025. The product roadmap includes advanced AI-powered energy management features (load optimisation and demand-side management) and a generative AI "virtual building assistant" to streamline reporting, troubleshooting, and maintenance. aedifion offers a built environment cloud management platform that helps commercial building operators monitor, manage and reduce energy usage across their estate. The platform combines engineering and information technology expertise across a broad portfolio of solutions. The company plans to use the newly raised funds to further develop the platform. Led by founder and CEO Johannes Fütterer, aedifion was spun out of RWTH Aachen University’s Institute for Building Technology in 2017. It has participated in research initiatives funded by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection and collaborated with research institutions including FU Berlin, University of Stuttgart and Fraunhofer ISE. Aedifion has partnered with industry players such as Eon, Uniper and Züblin. aedifion operates a plug-and-play, AI-based cloud platform that autonomously analyses and optimises technical building operations to boost energy efficiency, reduce CO2 emissions and lower operating costs. The software is used across more than 1,000,000 m² and by over 50 customers, including Art-Invest Real Estate, Commerz Real and ECE. The company employs more than 30 people and focuses on applying its automation to both existing buildings and new construction to meet tightening ESG and regulatory requirements. aedifion plans to use fresh capital to continue development of its software and accelerate digital decarbonization of real-estate portfolios. The platform emphasises rapid deployment without additional hardware and claims payback within months for many customers. Founded in 2017 and based in Cologne, the firm positions itself as a specialist in building-efficiency software for non-residential properties. aedifion develops software that analyzes building operating costs to help property owners identify and reduce expenses. The platform is positioned as an IoT backbone for efficiency measures in both existing buildings and new projects, according to its investor. Its solution is already in use at customers including E.ON, ROM Technik and ZWP Ingenieur-AG. Management says the recent seed financing will allow the company to accelerate product development and expand sales. The company is led by founders Johannes Peter Fütterer and Felix Dorner. The financing is intended to support growth beyond 2020.
