Zettaset builds a distribution-agnostic management platform for Apache Hadoop that focuses on enterprise security and compliance. Its software mitigates common Hadoop vulnerabilities via role-based access control, authentication, logging and other capabilities. The platform works across Hadoop distributions to manage big-data deployments in enterprise environments. The company intends to use new funding to build out Hadoop data-security capabilities. Zettaset recently raised a $10 million Series B led by HighBar Partners, with participation from Brocade, Draper Fisher Jurvetson and Epic Ventures. Competitors in this market include IBM and Cloudera. Zettaset (formerly GOTO Metrics) offers a patent-pending, enterprise-level software platform designed to enable massive, petabyte-scale data aggregation, organization and analysis using Hadoop and related open-source technologies. The solution is fully automated to let users of all sizes perform high-volume analytics without building complex infrastructure. Zettaset emphasizes a simple licensing model that allows customers to scale and provision as needed with no user‑count limits, positioning the product as an affordable option for SMBs and enterprises. The company says its platform supports Hadoop, Hive, Pig and Zookeeper and targets broad adoption as data-driven needs grow. Leadership includes co-founder and CEO Brian Christian and co-founder and CTO Michael Dalton, who is the platform's primary architect.
