  • Bitlayer

Participated · Initial Coin Offering · Aug 2025

Founded in October 2023, Bitlayer Labs is building a Bitcoin Layer 2 network based on the Bitcoin Virtual Machine (BitVM) to expand application programmability and tap into Bitcoin security. The team launched mainnet V1 in early 2024 and released a trust-minimized BitVM Bridge in July. Bitlayer has released integrations with chains including Arbitrum, Base, Cardano, and Sui and plans to ship a V2 of its mainnet later this year. The project raised capital through both private and public rounds; the fresh capital will be used for operational expansion, team growth, and ecosystem development. As of this raise, Bitlayer's total funding stands at $29.91 million across private and public rounds. Bitlayer is positioned as the first Bitcoin Layer 2 based on Bitcoin finality, offering a native environment through technologies such as OpVM, Finality Bridge, and RtEVM. It has implemented OpVM, which combines fraud proofs (BitVM) and validity proofs (OP_CAT) to enable Bitcoin L1 verification of arbitrary computations. The project launched Mainnet‑V1 on April 15 and now hosts over 280 deployed DApps across infrastructure, wallets, DeFi, NFTs, gaming, metaverse, and RWAs. Bitlayer reports partnerships with more than 30 Web3 platforms including Hacken, AWS Cloud, Ankr, Polyhedra, Babylon, Particle Network, and Meson. The team is preparing the imminent launch of Bitlayer V2, a Bitcoin‑native rollup whose state transitions are protected by OpVM. The company has raised a total of $25 million to date, funds the team says will accelerate development, scalability, and user accessibility. Bitlayer Labs offers a Bitcoin Layer 2 solution based on the BitVM paradigm. Its core objective is to address the trade-off between security and Turing completeness in BTC Layer 2 through cryptographic innovations and blockchain protocol engineering. The company aims to become the computation layer for Bitcoin, introducing ultra-scalability while inheriting Bitcoin’s security. Bitlayer targets a high-throughput, low-cost transaction experience for users. It intends to use recent funding to expand growth and development efforts. The Series A brought the company’s total capital raised to $16M. Bitlayer is a Bitcoin Layer 2 infrastructure provider building Layer 2 infrastructure for Bitcoin. The company plans to launch its mainnet on April 5. It will introduce an ecosystem incentive program called Ready Player One. Bitlayer announced completion of a $5 million seed financing. The round was led by Framework Ventures and ABCDE Capital, with participation from StarkWare, OKX Ventures, Alliance DAO, UTXO Management, Asymmetric Capital, Kenetic Capital, Pivot Global, Web3Port, Mindfulness Capital, C6E Capital, PAKA, Comma3 Capital, Kronos Ventures, dozens of institutions, and individual investors including Dan Held, Ryan Selkis, and Dan McArdle.

Mystiko.Network positions itself as the base layer of Web3 and offers the Mystiko SDK, a universal ZK SDK. The SDK is described as delivering scalability, interoperability, privacy and AI for every blockchain and dapp. In less than a year Mystiko V1 mainnets have supported over $134 million in transaction volume and processed more than 214K transactions across five different layer1/layer2 blockchains. The network reports 54K+ unique active onchain users. Mystiko.Network has been selected for programs including Binance MVB, Chainlink Startup, Polygon Ecosystem and Coinlist Seed. The company publishes additional resources including a website, Camo Wallet, Twitter, Discord, Medium, a whitepaper and docs.

  • TeleportDAO

    Participated · Seed · Mar 2023

TeleportDAO, founded in February 2022 and based in Vancouver, Canada, provides a universal bridge protocol that connects blockchains to enable cross-chain data and asset transfers. Its infrastructure lets users move messages, contract calls, tokens, and NFTs between chains and supports both EVM and non-EVM rails. The team has launched teleBTC, a completely decentralized Bitcoin wrapper on Polygon, and TeleSwap, a service built on the bridge that lets users wrap, unwrap, and trade between Bitcoin and Polygon without third-party involvement. TeleportDAO is integrating its technology across wallets, lending applications, and NFT platforms, including integrating TeleSwap into Liquality Wallet, and is building a decentralized marketplace for Bitcoin NFTs (Ordinals). The company intends to use the US$2.5M Seed proceeds to invest in product development and expand its team as it aims to expand to multiple EVM and non-EVM chains to become trusted infrastructure for secure cross-chain interactions.

  • Eclipse

    Participated · Seed · Oct 2022

Eclipse Labs is developing the first Ethereum layer-2 that leverages the Solana Virtual Machine (SVM) to combine Solana-grade execution performance with Ethereum liquidity and settlement. The protocol integrates components from the modular stack, citing Celestia and RISC Zero advances to enable fast proving and improved data availability. Since announcing its mainnet architecture in September 2023, Eclipse has released Devnet and Testnet versions and expects leading dApps from both Solana and Ethereum ecosystems to deploy to Mainnet. The team includes founder Neel Somani (ex-Citadel quant), Vijay Chetty (former Uniswap and dYdX Head of BD and Growth), and David Lin (former VP of Engineering at Discreet Labs). Eclipse plans a Q2 Mainnet launch and is establishing ecosystem programs including grants, hackathons, accelerators, engineering and marketing support, and community events. Financially, the company has raised $50M in the current Series A, bringing total capital raised to $65M. Eclipse builds a customizable modular rollup layer that lets developers deploy their own trust‑minimized app chains powered by the Solana virtual machine. The product aims to maximize throughput while allowing teams to choose tradeoffs among speed, decentralization, and cost. Eclipse plans to support Move in the future and will deploy a public testnet in early 2023 within the Celestia ecosystem. The company has formed partnerships with Celestia, EigenLayer, Oasis Labs, Polygon, Cosmos, and NEAR and received a development grant from the Solana Foundation. Eclipse launched as a portfolio company of Anagram and was founded in 2022 in San Francisco by Neel Somani and Sam Thapaliya. The recently raised funding will be used to grow the ecosystem, attract Rust engineers, and expand the business development team.
