- WigWag
Led · Seed · Feb 2016
WigWag has built an open-source IoT platform (built on the deviceJS runtime) that removes complexities of competing device protocols and provides a unified IoT programming language. Its platform is designed for service providers, developers and consumers to manage and program smart devices so environments can respond to individual behavior and preferences (for example, adjusting lighting, temperature or music automatically). The company plans to launch its platform and consumer products and is actively hiring in Austin to expand software development, testing and marketing teams. WigWag said the recent seed funding will accelerate product development and support expansion of its Austin-based development and marketing teams. The company is headquartered in Austin and also has a presence in San Francisco and China and currently employs 20 people. Management frames the opportunity around broader IoT adoption and increased intelligence at the network edge, citing large market potential for combining IP networking and IoT.
