- Exobiosphere
Led · Equity · May 2026
Founded in 2024 by Kyle Acierno, Dr. Bruno Santos and Dr. Olivia Borgue and based in Luxembourg, Exobiosphere is developing the Orbital High-Throughput Screening (OHTS) system to run automated experiments in orbit at scale. The OHTS platform is designed to run more than 2,000 simultaneous automated experiments per mission with real-time mirroring to Earth-based control systems, and it automates feeding, cell differentiation, compound dispensing, sample processing, and plate-reader and microscopy readouts. Exobiosphere positions microgravity as accelerating biological processes—such as cellular senescence, immune dysregulation, neuronal development and tumor aggressiveness—enabling disease mechanisms and drug responses that standard in-vitro models may not capture. The company targets applications including complex 3D disease modeling, automated stem cell differentiation, and compound potency testing, and is exploring therapeutic areas such as oncology, ageing, neurodegeneration, radiation response, inflammation, and cardiovascular disease. The recent JEI grant will support commercial expansion, team growth, international business development and the scale-up of its proprietary orbital screening capabilities.
- Petal Surgical
Participated · Series A · Oct 2025
Petal Surgical is developing an incisionless surgery platform that uses Millisecond Pulse Histotripsy — a form of acoustic liquefaction — integrated with robotics, imaging and AI-driven controls to precisely treat tissue. The platform creates vapor-filled cavities one at a time to enable connected treatment regions and break down tougher tissues without cutting. The company says its approach aims to eliminate cuts, pain, trauma and other typical surgical risks and to leverage the body's natural healing. Petal plans to use recent financing to accelerate R&D, expand clinical readiness activities and advance toward first-in-human studies. The company was founded by image-guided surgery engineer Prash Chopra alongside neurosurgeon Dr. Bowen Jiang, spine-surgery pioneer Dr. Nicholas Theodore, and Rony Abovitz, a founder of Mako Surgical. Petal has drawn board and investor support from figures such as Dr. Fred Moll and Lip-Bu Tan.
- TrillerTV

FITE operates a pay-per-view streaming platform that broadcasts combat sports events and has expanded from a mobile-to-TV app into a niche streaming network. The platform streams up to 1,000 combat sports events yearly and has over 1.6M registered users. FITE holds partnerships with Top Rank Boxing, the Premium Boxing Championship, and DAZN, and the company has a patent for its low-latency streaming technology. Flipps acquired US machine-learning startup Avid AI and integrated personalized news feeds into FITE to improve user engagement. The company is experimenting with subscriptions and expanding into e-sports, music festivals and other live events. FITE reached break-even and was cash-flow positive in the first half of 2019, has a 25-person team distributed between Sofia and New York, and is pushing further into the US, Canada, Australia, the UK and parts of Europe. Flipps offers a free iOS and Android app that lets users discover and project movies, music and videos onto any connected TV using a mobile device as a remote. The company’s patented technology reportedly works with over 250 million connected TVs and is compatible with more than 5,000 manufacturer models. Flipps maintains a library of over 100 licensed channels, including online series like Back On Topps, Hollywood movies, and news from The Washington Post. The firm is led by CEO Kosta Jordanov and is based in San Francisco, New York and Sofia, Bulgaria. Flipps intends to use the newly raised funds to expand its library of premium content. The article does not disclose revenue or user figures. Flipps (formerly iMediaShare) is a San Mateo, CA–based multi-screen TV streaming service led by co-founder and CEO Kosta Jordanov. The company provides mobile media discovery and control technology that delivers over-the-top video to connected TVs by streaming directly from the cloud. Flipps is compatible with over 250 million existing television sets, including more than 4,000 models from manufacturers such as Sony, Samsung and LG. The service is available in Lite and HD ($4.99) versions on Google Play and the Apple App Store. Financially, Flipps is funded by Launchub and Teres Capital and has received a personal investment from VC Tim Draper; the amount of that funding was not disclosed.
- Dover Microsystems
Participated · Seed · Feb 2018
Dover Microsystems develops a patented hardware security solution called CoreGuard that enforces updatable security policies in silicon to defend processors and embedded systems from network-based attacks. CoreGuard integrates with RISC processors to eliminate software vulnerability risk at endpoint devices. The company targets critical verticals including semiconductor, automotive, medical, energy, point of sale, and connected home industries. Led by Co-Founder and CEO Jothy Rosenberg, Dover positions its technology as delivering “real security to silicon.” The company announced a $6M seed funding round to support its growth. Proceeds will be used to expand engineering and product development and to support key hires across marketing and sales.
- Lexumo
Led · Seed · Feb 2016
Lexumo operates a cloud service that indexed open-source code globally and continuously checks it to ensure security updates are applied. Companies using open source inside embedded systems or enterprise software can submit their code for vulnerability scanning and ongoing monitoring. The service notifies developers when updates are available and can deliver custom patches when upgrades would break APIs or interfaces. Lexumo spun out last year from Draper Labs, an MIT-based not-for-profit research organization, after about five years of development there. Its automated approach aims to solve the practical difficulty companies face tracking and applying open-source security fixes. The company announced a $4.89 million seed round to support its product and go-to-market efforts.
