Overview

The Galata Business Angels (GBA) is an organization that supplemented by guidance in the formation of Inovent which committed to scouting, mentoring and finding funding to great young companies from start through a successful exit and that aims to increase the quantity, quality and success of angel investments in Turkey and in doing so create a greater pool of capital for innovative start-up companies. GBA operates as a not-for-profit organization and acts as a platform where member angel investors and aspiring entrepreneurs meet to exchange ideas about startups and discuss opportunities. GBA also provides access to active national and international networks that enable improved access to follow on capital, markets, and mentoring for emerging businesses. GBA comprises of executives, entrepreneurs and seasoned angel investors who aid in accelarating innovative, impactful, cutting edge startup companies to market leadership. The current members of GBA have founded and built world-class companies like Mynet, Airties, Gittigidiyor, Yemeksepeti, Markafoni, Pozitron, Vepa Grup, ReklamZ, DBI, 41-29 and been senior executives at pioneering companies like Apple, eBay, Maxim, Turkcell. They come from a wide array of industry expertise and together create an extensive network of entrepreneurial support. They mentor and coach the entrepreneurs, provide networking and help with team building, strategy and fundraising.

    EELI Technology develops modular, field-deployable electrochemical systems designed to recover lithium and other critical minerals from low-grade or chemically complex sources. The team, led by founder Mert Akin, Ph.D., has its technology roots in programs such as Activate and Cyclotron Road at Berkeley Lab. EELI recently closed an oversubscribed $2 million pre-seed round to accelerate commercialization and expand operations. Over the next 18 months the company plans to build commercial-scale pilot systems, expand its Hayward, California technology development and manufacturing facility, and prepare for initial U.S. customer-site deployments. EELI has also received support from the California Energy Commission and the U.S. Department of Energy as it moves from research to commercial pilots.

The product is designed to be used without changing a company's existing infrastructure to enable faster, lower-cost AI adoption. The company originated from an idea the founders developed in high school and was founded in the most recent March by Rüzgar İmren and Ege Mustafa Çelik.

Key modules include Answer Engine Insights, Content Optimization, AI-sourced traffic analytics, and question/prompt volume analysis, all driven by algorithms that process millions of data points daily. Since launching its product in spring 2025, Cognizo has already added global customers such as LG, Wellhub, and Prezi. The company believes shifting consumer search behavior toward AI assistants creates a new competitive battleground for brands. Current funding will accelerate product development, critical hiring, go-to-market execution, and overall growth ambitions.

Financially, the company completed a $1.1M seed round to support these initiatives.
