  • Portal

    Participated · Equity · Jun 2026

Portal builds a proprietary mechanoporation-based platform to enable efficient, scalable delivery of RNA, gene editors, probes, and other molecules into hard-to-transfect cells across diverse cell types and workflows. The company targets applications across novel drug discovery workflows, multi-perturbation AI data generation, and next-generation cell therapies, and integrates with high-throughput robotics and GMP manufacturing systems. Portal reports commercial traction with more than 100 customer sites, including public collaborations or use by Microsoft, Merck, AbbVie, Mass General Brigham, the Ragon Institute, and Purdue University. Use cases highlighted include high-throughput, physiologically relevant screening, generation of model-training biological data, and same-day circRNA-based multifunctional CAR-T production at the point of care. DARPA has expanded an initial $8M contract and is supporting commercialization through its EEI program, underscoring validation for Portal's point-of-care cell therapy manufacturing efforts. The company states it has achieved meaningful commercial revenue and technical validation from large pharma and academic partners.

  • Mevo

    Participated · Equity · Sep 2024

Mevo operates a digital-prescription platform focused on popularizing electronic prescriptions through B2B channels, with hospitals as its principal clients. The company is present in about 1,100 hospital units including Rede D'Or, Hospital Sírio-Libanês and Beneficência Portuguesa, and expects hospitals and clinics to generate 50 million prescriptions this year versus 35 million last year. Mevo serves 130 municipal health secretariats and reports that more than 1.4 million SUS patients have used its digital prescriptions. After acquiring competitor Receita Digital, Mevo doubled its number of doctors on the platform to about 100,000 active physicians — roughly 15% of professionals in the country — and estimates reach across all channels of about 15 million patients. Its primary monetization is Mevo Shop, a marketplace connecting prescriptions to 1,600 points of sale including partner chains and its own Mevo Farma, and it also sells exposure to pharmaceutical companies (20 labs currently paying and about 40 in negotiation). The company does not disclose its revenue.
