  • Mach Industries

    Led · Series C · Jun 2026

Founded in 2023 and based in Huntington Beach, California, Mach Industries develops autonomous aerial vehicles and related weapons and propulsion systems. In roughly three years the company has grown from about a dozen employees to roughly 350 and operates a 115,000-square-foot manufacturing facility with additional design and production sites. Mach has five vehicles in development and expects production to begin next year on at least three systems, and it recently won a Department of Defense contract to develop a runway-independent strike aircraft. The company acquired solid rocket motor startup Exquadrum in a $50 million cash-and-equity deal and launched Mach Energetics to commercialize engines. Thornton declined to disclose revenue, but said current sales are split roughly 50/50 between government customers and other companies, and the firm is rapidly scaling manufacturing and production capacity.

  • Radical AI

    Participated · Seed · Jul 2025

Radical AI builds an integrated scientific-intelligence platform that treats a material’s digital blueprint, physical creation, and real-world performance as a single continuous stream of insights. Its core product combines theoretical computation, machine learning, experimental data, and robotic (self-driving) labs to predict material properties, design new compositions, and automate experimentation. The company emphasizes autonomous discovery by synthesizing literature, simulations, and real-time data to accelerate breakthroughs beyond traditional trial-and-error research. Radical AI aims to address material-constrained challenges across space exploration, clean energy, advanced transportation, security, biotech, and semiconductors. The company is developing a comprehensive system to seamlessly unify R&D and manufacturing workflows. Financially, Radical AI recently closed a $55 million Series Seed+ funding round to advance its platform and operations.

  • H3X Technologies

    Led · Series A · Aug 2024

H3X designs unusually compact, efficient electric motors that deliver high power density for aerospace, marine and heavy-industrial use. Its motors are reversible (can act as motor or generator), include integrated power electronics, and are stackable to scale to higher power levels. The company has demonstrated kilowatt-class products and is working to complete development of megawatt-scale units aimed at hybrid-electric aircraft and marine applications. H3X has customers and contracts across aerospace, marine and the military, including two commercial aviation customers targeting 19‑ and 30‑seat aircraft. The team has grown from the founding group (CEO Jason Sylvestre, CTO Max Liben, COO Eric Maciolek) to about 33 employees. Financially, H3X generated “in the millions” in revenue last year, expects 5x growth this year, and is targeting profitability in 2026. H3X develops advanced electric motors and integrated motor drives (the HPDM family) aimed at enabling sustainable aviation and other high-performance markets. Its product line includes the HPDM-30, HPDM-250, and HPDM-3000, covering 30 kW to 3 MW using the same core scalable technology. The company emphasizes continuous specific power above 10 kW/kg, high efficiency, and vertical integration of electromagnetics, power electronics, additive manufacturing, motor control, and thermal systems. H3X performs design, manufacturing, and testing in-house at its new headquarters and production facility in Louisville, Colorado. It targets fully-electric and hybrid-electric aircraft while also pursuing defense, marine, specialized ground vehicles, and power-generation markets. Founded in 2020, the company aims to become a leading supplier of aviation-grade electric propulsion systems by 2030; its latest funding brings total capital raised to $9M to accelerate technology development and scale production.

  • Drosera

    Participated · Seed · Feb 2024

Drosera builds an Ethereum-aligned security automation layer using customizable Solidity “Traps” that let protocols define security parameters and deposit funds to incentivize third-party operators to detect and respond to threats. The system models an immune response: node operators run the Drosera Client to monitor Ethereum data and execute emergency responses when breaches are detected. The network has attracted over 25 protocols to its Testnet, including Ion Protocol, EtherFi, and Gravita, and has partnerships with node operators such as Infstones, Everstake, Cosmostation, a41 and Blockscape, as well as security specialist GoPlus. Drosera plans to use the recent funding to accelerate product development, hire personnel, and prepare for a mainnet launch scheduled for Q2 of 2024. Financially, the company has closed a raise bringing total capital to $4.75 million. Drosera is a trustless, decentralized project that detects exploit activity and mitigates economic losses on the Ethereum network. It functions as a decentralized automatic response system and provides a framework to create and execute automated responses to events on Ethereum. The platform is built to detect vulnerability exploitation and reduce associated economic damage. Drosera completed a $1.55 million seed round. Investors in the seed included Anagram, Arrington Capital, UDHC, Comfy Capital, Bodhi Ventures, Metamatic, BaseDAO, Asymmetric, Zeal Capital, Everstake, 01Node, Marin Ventures, Infinite Capital and NxGen.

  • Medallion

    Participated · Series A · Dec 2023

Medallion provides artists with customizable, white-label digital hubs to promote album releases, tour dates, merch drops, sell digital collectibles/NFTs and share exclusive content to foster direct fan relationships. The platform is built on blockchain and allows users to sign in with email or wallet providers such as Rainbow, Coinbase and WalletConnect. Medallion is free for artists to use but takes a percentage of all sales on the platform (the fee rate was not disclosed). About 20 artists are currently using the platform, including Jungle, Greta Van Fleet, Illenium, Disclosure, Mt. Joy and Sigur Rós. The company plans to introduce new member benefits and early-access features—like prerelease listening, presale tickets, video premieres—and enable new exclusive digital collectibles and Shopify integrations for physical sales. Medallion intends to expand availability to a few hundred more artists in 2024 and does not expect to be widely available until 2025 or later.
