- Monuv
Led · Equity · Nov 2023
Monuv offers software that connects to any security camera or DVR and applies cloud-based artificial intelligence to generate real-time, preventive alerts (e.g., perimeter intrusion, presence/absence, traffic and people/vehicle flow). The platform can be layered onto existing camera networks, reducing the need for costly hardware upgrades and enabling collaborative networks between private environments and public security. The company plans to accelerate adoption of AI monitoring and to expand support for channel partners to amplify network effects of its technology and business model. Monuv highlights its AI analytics as scalable and efficient for prevention-focused security use cases. Operationally, the company reported active cameras growing from 12,000 to 28,300 (a 2.4x increase) and says its monthly recurring revenue (MRR) has tripled since the initial investment. Management positions these performance gains as drivers for further investment and product rollout. Monuv provides a software-as-a-service platform that connects to virtually any security camera and applies AI to produce autonomous real-time alerts (perimeter-intrusion risk, presence/absence of people, traffic and flow of people and vehicles, etc.). The product targets easier integration with existing hardware to avoid equipment replacement and reduce electronic waste. During a two-year bootstrap period the company more than doubled its revenue annually. Monuv plans to improve the full customer journey by connecting camera owners and installers, giving installers a recurring-revenue business model. The company and investor highlight sustainability and alignment with UN SDGs (8, 11 and 12) as part of its value proposition. With the new capital Monuv intends to accelerate technology development, governance and go-to-market execution and pursue a future Series A.
