Iskra operates a blockchain-based platform that helps projects launch games and conduct governance token sales. Founded in 2022, the startup previously raised a seed round of roughly 520 billion won. The company is migrating its hub chain to Coinbase’s Base mainnet and has announced a tokenomics overhaul and plans to build a layer‑3. Iskra unveiled an ISK 10 million coin airdrop tied to the Base migration and plans bimonthly governance‑token airdrops for onboarding games. It is also introducing an ActivityFi rewards system and has published an ISKRA 2.0 roadmap aimed at becoming an all‑in‑one web3 platform. The platform says it will focus on global user activation and community growth. Iskra is a web3 community game platform that uses a community‑forward system to reward stakeholders and integrate sustainable tokenomic solutions for game developers. The company says it seeks to bridge web3 adoption between early adopters and the mainstream by combining enjoyment, sustainability and blockchain technology. Iskra announced it raised $40M from Korean tech and gaming companies including Krust, Wemade, Netmarble, LINE Studio and others. It plans to hold its first Token Generation Event (TGE) on the global exchange Gate.io on Sept. 29, 2022 and is partnering with Gate.io for the launch. As part of Gate.io’s Startup program, eligible users can receive up to 500,000 ISK tokens by staking USDT beginning Sept. 28, 2022. Despite challenging market conditions, Iskra says it is continuing to advance development milestones and launch major platform components.
- Planetarium Labs
Participated · Series A · Jul 2022
Planetarium Labs is developing a community-driven Web3 game network that gives each game its own application-specific blockchain and empowers player governance and customizable tokenomics. Its system is built on Libplanet, an SDK that allows developers to create blockchain applications entirely within the Unity game engine. The company says games can design their own governance and tokenomics while players and communities operate decentralized networks powering each game. Planetarium raised $32 million in a Series A led by Animoca Brands to help build out its network with tools for gaming and player governance. The Libplanet technology was used in the open-source RPG Nine Chronicles, which has more than 300,000 users and backers including Animoca Brands, Binance Labs and Ubisoft. Planetarium is supporting the live-action collectible NFT RPG Stella Fantasy, has a partnership with XL Games to explore community-governed MMORPGs, and said it will reveal more game titles through partners later this quarter.
- KlayCity
Led · Seed · Mar 2022
KlayCity is a P2E virtual world built on the Klaytn Network that enables players to use Land NFTs, $LAY tokens and $ORB tokens to scavenge, explore and level. District NFT owners can govern virtual districts and participate in various activities designed to integrate gaming and crypto economics. The company plans to continue building the virtual world with Land NFTs and has a broader plan to develop IP businesses based on KlayCity’s original story. KlayCity completed a Land NFT presale on Feb 10 at 500 KLAY per NFT, and while actively traded on OpenSea a district (#684) reached 120,000 KLAY on Mar 11—240× the mint price. Led by CEO Jake Choi, the team intends to use the seed funds to further develop the platform and its virtual-world experiences. The company is based in Seoul, South Korea.
