  • Blank Bio

    Participated · Seed · May 2026

Blank Bio develops RNA foundation models that learn from the molecular complexity of tumor transcriptomes to improve patient-level prediction in oncology. The company deploys its models across predictive biomarkers, prognostic biomarkers and patient trajectory modeling, and clinical diagnostics to support patient stratification, biomarker discovery, and improved test sensitivity and specificity. Blank Bio plans to use its recent seed financing to continue model development, expand collaborations with pharma and diagnostic partners, and generate new long-read RNA-seq datasets. As part of a strategic collaboration with PacBio, Blank Bio will produce PacBio HiFi long-read bulk RNA sequencing data from up to 100 fresh-frozen tumor samples, with sequencing performed at Seattle Children’s Research Institute and Kinnex libraries automated on the SPTLabtech firefly+ platform. The team includes AI scientists and engineers from Recursion, Deep Genomics, DeepMind, and Amazon and researchers from institutions including Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Stanford, and the Vector Institute, and has published work in Nature Methods, Nature Genetics, Nature Biotechnology, ICML, and NeurIPS. The company is headquartered in San Francisco and intends to apply its models to support pharmaceutical trial design and RNA-seq–based diagnostics.

  • Motion

    Participated · Series C · Sep 2025

Founded in 2019 by Harry Qi, Omid Rooholfada, Ethan Yu, and later joined by Chander Ramesh, Motion began as an AI-powered calendaring and task-management app and has evolved into a full bundle of interoperable AI agents for SMBs. The platform offers an executive assistant for scheduling, note-taking, and email replies; a sales representative agent; a customer support agent; and a marketing assistant that writes blogs and social posts. These agents connect with hundreds of common workplace tools such as Slack, Google Apps, Microsoft Teams, and Salesforce. Motion charges on a usage-based model, with plans ranging from $29 per month for a single seat and 1,000 credits to $600 per month for 25 seats and 250,000 credits, with custom tiers above that. Since launching the agent bundle in May, Motion has amassed more than 10,000 B2B customers and reached $10 million in annual recurring revenue within four months. The company positions itself as building the “Microsoft Office” of AI agents, offering an integrated alternative to disparate point solutions. To date, Motion has raised $75 million from investors including Y Combinator, HOF Capital, 468 Capital, SignalFire, Valor Equity Partners, Fellows Fund, Leonis Capital, and Apollo Projects.

  • Redcoat AI

    Participated · Equity · Mar 2024

Redcoat AI builds an AI-driven cybersecurity platform focused on defending against sophisticated, AI-powered threats such as contextual social engineering, deep fakes, and human-like interactions. The platform offers a dual approach: an on-demand red teaming service for social engineering attacks and mobile defense across SMS, WhatsApp, and other messaging platforms. The company was formed out of Inception Studio, a nonprofit accelerator for experienced founders, and is led by CEO John Whaley. Redcoat describes its team as seasoned cybersecurity and AI experts and emphasizes using AI innovations to create defenses as attackers adopt generative AI. The company emerged from stealth with $4.24 million in backing to accelerate platform development and expand its market reach. The announced funding will be used to speed product development and broaden deployment to help security teams protect their people and assets.

  • Sematic

    Participated · Seed · Nov 2022

Sematic provides an open-source continuous machine learning platform and a lightweight ML and data-science pipeline development and execution framework. Engineers can use native Python to develop and run end-to-end pipelines that track and version models, datasets, plots, metrics, code and other artifacts, and visualize them via a comprehensive user interface. The platform is designed to enable companies to develop automated ML training pipelines in days and let teams focus on training models rather than maintaining infrastructure. Sematic was founded by Emmanuel Turlay, a founding member of Cruise’s ML Infrastructure team. The company intends to use the $3M in seed funding to accelerate hiring, launch a hosted cloud offering, and attract more developers to its platform. Since its launch in August 2022, Sematic has closed commercial customers such as Voxel and gained significant adoption from the open-source community.
