  • Kardi Ai

    Participated · Equity · Apr 2025

Kardi AI produces an AI-powered chest strap that combines ECG measurement with AI-driven analysis to detect heart arrhythmias. The device is positioned as a continuous-monitoring alternative to traditional 24-hour Holter monitors, enabling daily measurements to improve detection of intermittent irregularities. The company has helped detect over 250 serious cases of arrhythmia and collaborates with more than 20 hospitals and roughly 130 cardiologists. Kardi AI is preparing a clinical trial in partnership with university hospitals in Olomouc and Ostrava to advance clinical validation. It recently closed a €1.1M funding round to support international expansion and further clinical validation. Initial expansion targets include Poland, Slovakia, Bulgaria and Romania, followed by the United Arab Emirates and India. KARDI AI develops a software-as-a-medical-device that connects with chest straps to capture ECG recordings during everyday activity and over extended periods. The myKARDI app evaluates the recordings with advanced artificial intelligence and shares analyses with attending physicians, alerting them to detected arrhythmias. To develop its AI components the company collaborates with Bulgarian AI consulting firm Childish.AI. Founded in 2022 by Dr. Tomáš Skála, Stephen Burke, Pavel Digaňa, and David Skala, KARDI AI works with more than 70 cardiologists and neurologists and has 600 users. The startup positions its service as affordable and simple, with pricing the company compares to a family Netflix subscription per month for full real-time monitoring. KARDI AI plans to shift from a treatment-focused product to a preventive screening tool and to accelerate expansion into additional markets using the new funding. Kardi AI pairs a Polar chest-belt wearable with a mobile app and cloud platform to enable unlimited ECG monitoring and real-time AI analysis. Their AI stack cleans noisy signals and a neural network annotates beats and suggests courses of action to users while summarizing long-term recordings for cardiologists. Co-founders are cardiologist Tomas Skala (chief of medical and research) and serial entrepreneur Stephen Burke (CEO). Initial development is split between Prague (product development) and a planned machine-learning and AI team in Sofia, Bulgaria. The team has run an initial patient trial measuring 160 patients and is annotating beats by expert cardiologists to create a gold standard, targeting over a million beats. Kardi AI will use its funding to bring the product to market starting in the Czech Republic and then expand to other markets.

  • Roleshare

    Participated · Seed · Aug 2022

Roleshare is a London provider of a matching and management platform for sharing a job that matches professionals to co-apply and share full-time roles. Co-founded by Sophie Smallwood and David Smallwood, the company focuses on enabling enterprises to retain and redeploy women and employees from diverse backgrounds seeking greater flexibility. Its system matches complementary skills to share mid- to senior-level jobs and also offers a fractional talent community to share roles. Roleshare has pilot programs with clients including JP Morgan, BP, and Alphabet's X Moonshot Factory. The company raised $1.2M in Seed funding and intends to use the proceeds to accelerate its technology platform and product development. It also plans to expand its sales and marketing efforts into new markets. Roleshare runs a talent marketplace that pairs professionals so they can co-apply and share one full-time role, making senior and strategic positions more "part-time-able." The platform lets individuals post their existing jobs for free while companies can list roles for a fee, providing talent liquidity for enterprises. The startup says it will build a global rolesharing marketplace and is committed to launching with large multi-sector organizations. Roleshare cites a U.K. study it says shows job-sharing employees are 30% more productive and argues the model improves diversity, skills and business continuity. Founders highlight a team with backgrounds at PayPal, Facebook and eBay and position the product as a way for companies to retain top talent while bringing in new hires. The company has attracted backing from European and U.K.-based angel investors as it scales the product.

  • ZENOO

    Participated · Seed · Jun 2021

ZENOO provides a high-tech, personalized RAW food and wellness product delivery service for pet owners, combined with guidance and tips to support pet health. The company was founded after CEO and co-founder Agota Jakutyte used RAW nutrition to improve her own pet's health and built a B2C solution to scale that approach. ZENOO emphasizes product thinking and customer-centricity, targeting a sizable market — the article notes about a quarter of European households own a pet. The startup plans international expansion and to launch already-tested new products. Its stated growth priorities include boosting marketing, new customer acquisition, and strengthening the marketing and growth team. ZENOO completed a financing round in 2021 to fund these plans and accelerate expansion.
