  Diffraqtion develops quantum-enabled cameras designed to deliver high-resolution imaging for advanced sensing applications across Earth and space intelligence, robotics, defense and autonomous systems. Its technology aims to enable machines to perceive and understand the physical world with greater precision as AI expands into physical environments. The company is accelerating development and deployment of these cameras and has scheduled field testing to begin later this month with assistance from a global network of hardware experts. Financially, Diffraqtion announced an additional pre-seed investment round (investors include SBI US Gateway Fund, Plug and Play Tech Center, Collaborative Fund, Wolf Point Capital, Parallel VC and ADIN) that adds to a $4.2 million pre-seed raise in February. Diffraqtion also holds a $1.5 million Direct-to-Phase II SBIR contract from DARPA to demonstrate its quantum camera technology.

  Vertical Semiconductor is an MIT spin-out designing power-management chips made from gallium nitride (GaN) to cut energy losses in AI data centers. Unlike most GaN devices that lay transistors horizontally, the company stacks transistor components vertically, enabling smaller, cooler, and potentially cheaper chips. The technology originated in Professor Tomas Palacios’s research and was advanced by co-founder Joshua Perozek’s doctoral work. Led by CEO Cynthia Liao, the firm plans to ship prototypes later this year and launch commercial products in the following year. By improving the conversion of high-voltage grid power to the low voltages required by Nvidia’s AI accelerators, Vertical aims to slash both wasted heat and operating costs for data-center operators. The startup contends its approach offers step-change efficiency gains rather than incremental improvements. To finance commercialization, the company has secured $11 million in new capital, its first disclosed outside funding.

  Lamarr.AI, led by CEO Tarek Rakha, provides automated solutions for building envelope diagnostics and retrofitting. It leverages drones, thermal imaging and AI-based analytics to detect, diagnose and guide fixes for envelope defects. The company has worked with numerous building owners and facilities managers and says it has saved more than $1M in engineering and construction costs by automatically identifying issues such as deteriorated window seals and leaky roofs. Lamarr.AI intends to use its newly raised funds to productize and scale tools that eliminate carbon emissions while reducing building maintenance and ownership costs. The startup raised $1.1M in a Pre-Seed round led by Hazelview Ventures, with participation from milemark•capital, Newlab, Georgia Tech’s Venture Fund and MIT’s SBXi Fund. The funding is aimed at supporting commercialization and scaling of its diagnostics and retrofitting toolset.
