  Tangent Works is a Brussels-based AI company founded in 2014 that offers automated machine-learning and time-series predictive analytics. Its core product, Tangent Information Modeler (TIM), automatically builds predictive models for forecasting and anomaly detection using Instant Machine Learning (InstantML) technology. TIM is designed to help companies leverage their data at scale and lower the cost of deploying predictive models. The company serves customers including SIEMENS and operates across utilities, logistics, banking, and industrial sectors. In December 2022 Tangent Works raised €4.0M in a Series A round to accelerate its global expansion. As part of the round, Leon Cappaert from SFPIM will join the board of directors. Tangent Works is a Belgian-Slovak data science startup that automates the repetitive, manual parts of a data scientist’s work by building predictive models. Its algorithm generates predictive modelling based on the mathematical concept of information geometry. The platform is intended to let data scientists focus on which data to feed into models and how to act on the outputs rather than on model construction. Founded in 2013 in Bratislava and now based in Gooik, the company started in the energy sector and has expanded to serve customers including Microsoft and Amazon. In 2017 the team raised €1 million from Saffelberg, the investment fund of entrepreneur Jos Sluys. The new capital will be used to drive international expansion.
