In its Series A and extension rounds the company has raised a cumulative ¥27.89 billion (about $174 million), including ¥12.62 billion (about $79 million) in the recent extension. Turing plans to use the new funding to expand compute capacity, strengthen its business organization for deployment, and hire additional staff. The company’s stated goal is to accelerate realization of Japan-developed fully autonomous driving systems.

Shizen Connect builds and operates a VPP energy management system that integrates batteries, EVs, heat pumps (eco-cute) and other devices using IoT and AI to enable aggregated control and market transactions. The company develops its own IoT devices, AI-based optimization, and a digital platform for large-scale VPP and DR services, and sells related hardware. Its platform has been adopted by major utilities and energy companies (including Tokyo Gas, Tokyo Electric Power Energy Partner, Hokkaido Electric Power, Hokuriku Electric Power, Osaka Gas, JERA, Tokyu Fudosan and others) across household DR and grid-scale battery control. Independent market research (Fuji Keizai) cited Shizen Connect as No.1 by corporate contract count in DR/VPP platforms and No.1 in AC/RA system corporate contract counts. The company aims to scale via capital-business alliances with 16 partners to become the de facto standard VPP platform. Shizen Connect was founded on October 2, 2023 and is headquartered in Tokyo; it plans to use newly raised funds to hire engineers and invest further in R&D.

Gix develops an area-value visualization tool called “Tochikachi” and offers strategy consulting and data analytics services. The company has longstanding commercial ties and partnership agreements that include a sales-partner contract for Tochikachi. It has delivered AI-driven projects and operational reform support to multiple divisions of Mitsubishi UFJ Bank. Gix also maintains a capital and business relationship with JR West and an existing investment relationship with JR West Innovations. The firm says it will use recent capital and partner ties to accelerate “data-informed” initiatives, expand data utilization into marketing and digital strategy, and continue personnel exchange and training activities. The announcement frames the funding as supporting joint technology and business development with strategic partners.

Founded in 2012, Origami operates a cash-free payment platform with the mission to “create the future of money, payments and commerce.” The company introduced mobile payment services in 2015 and officially launched the Origami Pay product in May 2016. Origami Pay is now accepted nationwide across convenience stores, international fast-food chains, taxis, department stores and many other retail verticals. Consumers access the service via the Origami app on iOS or Android, while merchants use the separate Origami Business app for transactions. The company’s newly announced financing will be directed toward hiring global talent, bolstering product development and accelerating expansion into additional verticals. Including the latest round, Origami has secured a total of USD 88 million in funding to date.
